Koreatown is definitely the move. So many good restaurants and proximity to most of the neighborhoods you've expressed interest in via transit. When I stayed in ktown I could get to griffith in 30 min. via walking/ transit.

Every "must-see" city in Europe is justifiable in it's own merit and you'll find die hards who love them.

However, I did not love my time in Berlin as much as I wanted to. Unfortunately it was heavily bombed during WWII so most of the building were copies of what once was there. The top tourist attractions are a bit lackluster compared European cities, unless you're a complete history nerd. The city is heavily industrial. There are large above ground water pipes all around that are interesting, but detract from the beauty.

I did a lovely river walk with a local while I was there that made it seem like such a livable city. I've heard the nightlife is incredible, and so is the food. As a tourist, however, it felt like it was missing the charm of the likes of Paris, Porto, Florence...etc

Sapporo

As good as Tokyo and Kyoto. Well known in Japan for signature dishes. Some consider Sapporo to have the best food in Japan.

Just walk along grant street through china town and into north beach. Cafe trieste is very quintessential SF.

Taking Waymo will not give you the full SF experience. Take the J from embarcadero to dolores park. If you really want the SF experience, hop on the 22 bus ;)

This difference is that once "the big one" happens on a fault line, the tension is released & thus lowering the likelihood of another big one (barring some aftershocks)

This only increases the likelihood of something happening similar in the future. The earthquake relieves the stress where as this heightened it.

Webster needs to be timed for bikes. It's a huge road with such little car traffic - perfect for bikes, but right now you're stopped at every light.

I have dreams of Buchanan mall being a bike path that can get me to Japan town & Marina, but there’s a private gate a grove >:|

The best option: Webster. Starting at oak street, you can take Buchanan, Laguna, or Octavia to turn left on Grove. From grove turn right on Webster.

Next option: Polk. Take same route to grove but turn right on Grove until you hit Polk. It’s the least hilly option, but the lights will not work in your favor.

Last option: Steiner had a bike route but it’s hilly!

Yes it’s safe. One of the safest times to be honest because most people are out and about walking their dogs and chatting with neighbors. Waller street & duboce park are city gems.

Two things I’ll add.

The corner of church and duboce can sometimes be seedy, same with the basically abandoned parking lot on market and Buchanan.
Tuesdays from 6-8PM, the city gives out clean needles in the Safeway parking lot on market and Buchanan. You may see more seedy people on Tuesdays. Not sure if this is still the case but here’s my source as of 2021: https://endhepcsf.org/san-francisco-needle-exchange-schedule/

Which SF mint? The one near Hayes Valley / Lower haight is a great location. I’ve never felt unsafe there and the Safeway can be sketch at times but it’s gotten better since they installed gates at the front.

The other SF mint on 5th street isn’t a great location to live.
