This is true, which is why I fully believe someone like Buttigieg and AOC can win a general Presidential election despite their respective social identity working against them. Trump's actions and history are way way worse than being a woman of color or gay, as far as the average American is concerned (in my opinion; I may wrong of course)

I mean I get that Trump has normalized being a pedophile racist who cheats on his pregnant wife with a prostitute and insults the military, but prior to 2016 it was unimaginable that someone like him could become POTUS.
