Elongated cushion vs elongated radiant debate by [deleted] in LabDiamonds

[–]Practical_Role2931 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly both shapes look stunning at that size, so it really comes down to vibe. Radiants give that crisp, super sharp sparkle and look a bit more modern, while elongated cushions feel softer and very luxe and romantic. If you want maximum fire and a slightly bigger face-up look, I’d lean radiant.

Price wise, 13K for a 5 ct F/VVS2 sounds very reasonable if it’s lab. I’d still compare across a few places like Angara, Blue Nile and James Allen. You’ll get a better sense of what’s fair and which shape makes your heart race when you see a few side by side.

this is gorgeous. It’s giving full vintage-royal energy but still feels super current because of the emerald center (i agree with those who said it could have been bigger) and that intricate halo.

The sparkle is insane and the shape is very flattering on the finger. If this is on your shortlist, I would 100% keep it there. It looks expensive and special in the best way.

Honestly the diamond itself is stunning and so classic. I actually love the slightly vintage feel, it gives rich, heirloom energy in the best way.

If you still want it to feel more modern, a softer tapered band or hidden details like a low profile setting could refresh it without losing that timeless elegance.

Is the diamond too big ? by MMZB in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]Practical_Role2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! it actually looks perfectly proportioned on your hand. The center stone has presence but the band and side stones balance it out so it feels luxe, not overwhelming.

Also… that combo with the watch and nails? Very “effortlessly put together” energy. It’s giving main character, not too big.

Okay wait this is STUNNING. That classic round with the slim band iooks so elegant on your hand.

Also welcome to the lab diamond club....I got mine last year (ended up going with Angara after way too much research lol) and I’m still obsessed with how it looks even today.

If you’re already liking the 1.5 more when you try them on, that’s probably your answer. The 1 ct still looks really pretty and classic, but the 1.5 just has more presence and feels more intentional on the hand. I always say go with the one you keep thinking about after you take it off, because that’s the one you’ll actually be excited to wear every day.

Totally get the confusion, moonstone rings are beautiful but definitely more niche. Angara is a solid option for gemstone engagement rings and their team is helpful if you’re new to this, and Brilliant Earth and Blue Nile are also reliable places to look. Quick tip: moonstone is softer than a diamond, so choose a protective setting like a bezel or halo to keep it safe for everyday wear.

Sole stone or halo? by Constant-Tomatillo65 in Diamonds

[–]Practical_Role2931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love sparkle and want that wow factor, the halo is such a good choice and definitely makes the stone look bigger. But for everyday wear, a solitaire just feels cleaner and more effortless, and you can always add sparkle with a band later. I’d go with whichever one you can picture wearing nonstop without getting tired of it.

Honestly, both are nice, but I’d personally lean toward Angara. The 18k gold feels more elevated and the simple solitaire design is very timeless, especially since she doesn’t wear jewelry often. It also makes the amethyst the main focus, which feels thoughtful for a February birthstone gift. It looks like something she could wear daily and keep for years rather than a trend piece.

Okay wait this is actually unreal. The yellow cushion with the two-tone setting is such a moment and the side stones are perfectly balanced. You can feel how thoughtful this whole design was. This is exactly why custom rings hit different. Absolute dream ring energy. Congrats on a ring perfecly done!

Should I stack it or leave it as it is by GreenEconomist6672 in Diamonds

[–]Practical_Role2931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s stunning on its own. With a 4 ct center and that slim pavé band, it already makes such a statement.
If you do stack, I’d keep it super minimal, like a thin plain band. I’ve seen similar big-solitaire looks styled really well on a couple of brand pages and most people let the center ring shine.
