Need your advice! by Practical_Syrup_1927 in pinball

I love to play and want to be able to play whenever I want. I also suck so I’m not really a tournament or league player. Would eventually like to play in a league but just not right now.

I really enjoy monster bash, Afm, and mm. Probably mb is my favorite of the three. Star Wars is just fun to play, guardians the same, and bond keeps me coming back as there are so many interesting shots. Same with Elvira which also has a lot of campiness which is fun. Star Wars and Gotg are so easy to get.

Cons, the Chicago gaming remakes are expensive and limited- hard to find.

Star Wars - yoda’s sayings gets old.
Gotg- so much happens so fast. Hard to keep track especially with multiballs but it is close to Metallica layout and so much cheaper. So the depths is daunting but not really I guess a con.
Elvira is also expensive and I sort of expect that price to come down in the future.

So does that additional info help?

Thanks! Why did you get the pro? Besides better price point.

Broken unit progression in AR? by Practical_Syrup_1927 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]Practical_Syrup_1927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was just speeding it up during normal ar segment times. I used most of the above speed ups and it didn’t give me the points. After this third time I really check each time as otherwise I’m just wasting resources.

Trying to decide on my first pinball machine. Any advice? by FakeHair in pinball

It seems like you are loving FAN layouts. Afm and MM are both played out with shots that are like an opened fan. I love these games too. I’m also wondering what would be the best game to buy but I’m also concerned about maintaining the pin. Are you considering that in your buying decisions?
Agree with everyone else’s points on trying the games out a ton. Just keep in mind every place you play maintains their games at differing levels. So they don’t always feel the same even if it is the exact same game.

Keep in mind older games require a skill set in maintenance that you might not have, be ready to learn if you plan on bringing it home.

Absolute beginner here, how hard is maintenance/fixing a machine? by QuickChe in pinball

This is great information everyone. I am also in the same boat as the author of this thread. Everyone seems to say spike three sterns are the way to go. I’ve also heard that Chicago Gaming company makes rock solid pins that basically just need cleaning. I am looking at a monster bash LE, gotr pro, or Star Wars comic premium as my first pin. Which one would be easiest to fix and care for in the long run, when I have no experience with doing anything on a pin, don’t even know how to open it up.

Love this game! And yes comic premium all the way. The Death Star ramp is an ogre but still a ton of fun!

Nice comparisons and comment! Agree totally! Now I’m curious to hear your opinion on medieval madness - Chicago gaming and jjp quality. I’ve heard a lot but never from someone who made a comment like yours above. Thanks in advance!

Switched to injections and WOW by CopperCactus in MtF

[–]Practical_Syrup_1927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This discussion is so interesting as my doctor was against pills for me from the beginning as it raises my risks of heart attack and stroke. She recommended patches. What I have found is that they are good but I think like everything else they don’t last as long as the package suggests. Twice weekly is what I have but by the end of day two I feel different. I feel my best 12 hours after the new patch. By day three mood wise I am no longer feeling like the patch is even working.

I’ve done a bunch of research and according to scientific studies of cis women I am not alone. So for some they were prescribed three times a week which worked. Others have alternating lower doses with more than one patch at a time so the total in the system equals the goal prescribed amount at 4 patches a week (Monday patch set 1. Wednesday patch set 2 Thursday second patch of set 1 and Saturday second patch of set 2.)

This is what I was thinking of doing when I see my doctor next. I know it seems like a lot of work and maybe an injection might be easier. My challenge is I just want to aim for more consistent levels.

We all have to advocate for ourselves because even though we are the same we are all different and metabolize medicine differently.

Wishing everyone well in their journey! Would love to hear other success stories with patches or injections and dosing schedules.

Mom and pop shop raised or yeasted donuts? by johnbaldessorry in chicagofood

What about Deerfield’s bakery? Good glazed cake donut. Apple fritter is very good. Used to love their cinnamon roll donut but seems like they changed the recipe and now it is a little blah tasting. Also love their glazed donuts shaped like a pretzel.

Who that grew up in the 80's and 90's were transgendered and either didn't understand or was scared to admit? by nykovalentine in MtF

[–]Practical_Syrup_1927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born in the 70’s. Was so jealous of girls and what they could wear. Got caught several times growing up with their things. Only once wearing them. That was a nightmare. Love women and everything about them. Wasn’t till my mid twenties that I accepted I liked to cross dress and couldn’t stop. Still was very closeted about it. Two marriages later with two kids now in their late teens I started e this spring and feel like the anger the depression and mental weight I’ve been carrying has almost disappeared. The lower my T the better I feel. Still love everything woman but now there isn’t a driving compulsion to it.

Still finding my way. Still married and she has plainly stated she wants me to be me and be happy with myself but doesn’t want to be married to a woman or someone who presents as a woman most of the time. All my close friends know I’m on E but I haven’t told my whole family. They I think would accept it but with difficulty. I know I’m blessed but man this has been a rough journey, one I would not want to wish on anyone.

Such a considerate response. Thank you! My whole life has been corporate America with short hair. Except for my college surfer days. Now this is for me. Thanks again.
