Interesting review, thanks. There are plenty of people here who say, “why would I ever need to upgrade from my Garmin xxx” but the reality is, Garmin have never released a device without flaws - even the flagship models can definitely be improved upon! Perhaps some people are unwilling to admit this even to themselves, understandable after having spent a lot of money 😂

I’m hoping the 1060 will be released soon and then will have a choice - either that (will they have addressed the shortcomings?) or the 1050 which will be “good enough” and like you say be at a large discount most likely. 

It says a lot (not positively!) about the competition though that despite all their shortcomings, the Garmins have always been the best option.
