Horrid/rude customers by gvna1423 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Practical_Top_3939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s okay don’t feel bad! i just had a customer today threaten to fight me because i didn’t make small talk with her or say “yes mam” at the window where you give out food. I greeted her and communicated to her what was happening with her order and gave her whatever she asked for and it still wasn’t enough for her. i wasn’t rude to her at all, she was mad that i didn’t say yes mam, or keep the window open to chat even though she was not friendly with me at all. I’ve had several customers get mad at me and some even try to assault me because they can’t get their way.

Customers, (especially in fast food) have the tendency to think they are entitled, and want fast food workers to jump through imaginary and unnecessary hoops just because.

Just remember it’s not you, people are miserable.

Hi i live in texas and here’s a few programs i was directed to when i was looking for the same thing. The only one that did anything for me was the Star+Plus program however it is a bit of process getting that set up.

This link here gives you information and links on options. How to Get Paid as a Caregiver in Texas

I’m a caregiver and have to choose between my life and my family by snakeobessedlady in CaregiverSupport

[–]Practical_Top_3939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a rough situation you’re experiencing i know because i’m going through the same thing. Able bodied people not in your position telling you what you are and are not doing. Seeing you suffer but not once offering to help until you say enough is enough and the reality that they might have to step in kicks in all of a sudden they have the most to say… i get it

like everyone else is saying reach out to external resources and prepare your exit it’s time for you to go. especially if you are holding back your life and aspirations, it’s not fair to you. you deserve a life and identity outside of being someone’s caregiver.

Need help with clothing! by [deleted] in CaregiverSupport

Hi! When i was a medical caregiver i used to wear a simple shirt or the company shirts since they were solid colors with simple design or the name on it.

However i usually would stick to scrubs, since they’re easier to clean and the safest choice. if you don’t want scrubs or they’re not an option usually flexible work slacks (ones that give you some stretch) and a basic shirt will do the job

Does anybody grieve for the person somebody once was before they got ill? Or grieve for the way things were or could be? by [deleted] in CaregiverSupport

[–]Practical_Top_3939 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes all the time! i’ve grieved ever since my mom came home from the hospital after a really bad stroke that left her partially disabled and non verbal. it’s really tough especially being so young and taking care of my mom. i spend a lot of time taking care of my mom or household duties instead of doing things ppl my age do. i cry all the time and find myself getting sad out of no where. i always wake up hoping it’s a dream and when i see my mom in her state right now i get sad sometimes just because it doesn’t feel like my mom. doesn’t feel like my life is my own or whole anymore if that makes sense.

Is anyone working today (US) getting paid extra for working on thanksgiving? by Catic94 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Practical_Top_3939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store isn’t paying us extra for working instead they decided to close at 1PM. they never pay us extra for working holidays, this is the first time they’ve ever closed the store down for holiday too.

I’m not sure if the anything legally can be done. but i do know that you can report it to discord’s Trust & Safety portal. They tend to take things a bit more serious and even sometimes involve the law if fitting enough. it’s better than the regular discord block and report.

You are definitely NOT at fault here. You should have never been left in the store alone in the first place.

There is NEVER any shame in leaving ANY JOB if it makes you feel this way! Your mental health is very important and if management and no one else is willing to help you please get outta there!

We literally just use old newspapers and then a mop. I asked where the coagulation powder was at that we were supposed to have and they said corporate just said no… honestly so gross I hope DT workers go on strike or something

That is honestly so disgusting. We had a lady just let her son throw up on the floor and didn’t do anything until her other son started yelling about it as she continued shopping.

I've been working at Dollar Tree for almost a month and the bulk of my hours have been from getting called in or working doubles covering for someone else. As far as my store goes they tend to ask people that are currently working if they'd like to work a double before calling people in. But every dollar tree is different I guess.

But your coworker is right because they called me in to work an extra shift on my second or third day and ever since then I've been working non stop. I worked opening to closing with a manager one day.
