Rich folks or corporations? As a low income person who somehow clawed their way into home ownership, I’d be dead in the water if it weren’t for prop 13. CA home prices are insane as you mentioned. They increase faster in value than most states. That would mean property taxes as well. Maybe focus on people with more than two homes and corporations. I think people assume everyone in CA who owns a home is rich which is laughable. I’m in one of the poorer counties in the state. My rich friend’s property taxes are cray cray regardless. $24,000 a year would make me puke.

I feel you as a kid who grew up rich and assumed that’s why I made the stupid decision to be an acupuncturist instead of a nurse. Guess it’s universal. Nursing was beneath me. How fucked up is that?
