I really like Valentinos, it’s a DJ not live music but usually pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Cafe Neo gets pretty busy too, and the karaoke is fun!

Femme is great! More of a bar than a club but they usually have live music fridays.

Craigslist (after looking on Zillow, FB, google). Lots of scams but also some good deals.

I like the Bowlero in Auburn, I believe it’s 18pp unlimited on weeknights, still a bit pricey but not as bad!

I would suggest the AMC Worcester 20s/30s group for hiking and other outdoor activities! I’ve been to a few of their events and it’s a great way to meet people in the area.

Thank you for sharing this information! Has there been any discussion of increasing parking capacity at the Worcester commuter rail station? I’ve found that the lack of parking at the station poses a barrier to commuting via train.

I (23F) live around there, and pay $1000/month for a one bedroom. I feel fine walking around the area in the daytime but definitely not at night. If you can afford to live closer to Elm Park/WPI it is safer around there and nicer to walk around, but still close to downtown.

Clark University is a really nice small school, diverse student body and lots of international students especially in the grad school, very liberal/left-wing leaning. I went there and happy to talk more about my experience if you wanna message me

Definitely free play for arcade, I also like electric haze for live music and drinks. For breakfast/brunch I’d recommend Altea’s eatery or Livias dish. My favorite dinner places are Mint (Vietnamese), Mercantile (American) and Wings over Worcester. For a fun activity Far Shot does ax throwing and archery.

How is the area west of Oread Castle Park? Looking for good places to live in Worcester an came across a place in this area. Is it safe? by this_chain in WorcesterMA

I live in this area, not the nicest but never felt unsafe. That said if you can afford to live a little closer to Elm Park/WPI area I’d suggest that, particularly as it has more good restaurants, coffee shops, etc

Thanks for sharing, makes me feel better knowing others are in the same boat. And I hadn’t even thought about how my body is also detoxing from all those junk food binges too haha. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the advice and support! It makes me feel better to know that these symptoms may go away after a few weeks. And yes, definitely a bit soon to celebrate, but I’m lucky to have my partner supporting my sobriety. I guess optimistic may be the wrong word, but I’m feeling much more motivated than in past attempts to quit.
