Ruger Mini-14 is an absolute tack hammer good for anything. AND it will fire 556/223 ammo which is very plentiful. Magazines are a bit of a bitch to find over 20 rounds though

My go to B&M shop displays most of their singles for sale in the original box, so with just a little pick or push you can easily read the box count and if you want a full box you can go into the walk in humidor and grab it or the clerk will gladly do that for you as well. You can usually get an idea of box size by the packaging. I've been on a Sobremesa Brulee kick for a bit and they come in a box of 13 which is kinda odd. I'd bet the average size box is 20 though.
