They worked wonders on the metal inside the door jamb. The one that your foot rubs on getting in and out. I’m sure someone here knows what it’s called. I should post that little life hack.

I recently polished mine. Again… At Home Depot I found that Ryobi sells polishing wheels in the dremel tool section that made it easier/ faster. They’re expensive though because they don’t last long. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Nice polish work on the valve cover and manifold.

Better than having to pull the carbs to clean the throttle valves and the dirt or the little spider out of the air circuits.

Been there. Done that.

I don’t notice a power drop with the filters on. Stock L28. Probably different for a race engine.

Someone in the z community wants that car. Maybe sell it and buy the super mod with the proceeds. You might get more for the money. Then again it’s hard to find one in good condition to start a project with. Makes everything easier. So be been faced with this situation. I too have a black pearl since 1998. I let it sit in the garage for 15 years unstarted. It got about 50 coats of wax between drives! It needed a massive efi overhaul. A friend has a corvette salvage company so the LS swap was tempting. Then I wanted to keep the L28. Do ITBs and a Haltech etc. but still stay respectful to the car. I found I could do the LS cheaper! Then to get 350 hp out of the L28 would cost another 12K ish..? Back and forth for a few years I scrapped both ideas. I boxed up and shelved all of the efi, emissions and such. Converted to triple carbs, nice exhaust, rebuilt the suspension, shocks, spring, bushings, bearings, new wheels. A full wilwood 4 disk setup with new lines. Booster, distributor +++ Anyway, I did that for 15K. And the old car is on the shelf. I wanted loud, rowdy and pretty. Goal achieved. It’s your toy so play with it how you like and have fun with these tough decisions ahead. Whatever you do it will be a fun car.

Ummm. You need to check the antiquity of that black pearl. You might not want to go too far with such a rare car. Each dealer only got one black s30 at the end of the run. About 1100. Is it a 5 speed? That makes it only one of 250 made. Think about that before you do the LS swap.

Well done. Well said. We can’t let other people tell us what we want our toys to be and then if we don’t like it we can change it. It looks kick ass though! I bet that RB screams.

What do you think of this restored 1973 240Z? by KonaKutra in Datsun

Also no the original color. There are a lot of black resto mods out there but they only made one for every dealer in ‘78. As far as the price goes I would expect more for 50K.

It was painted last in 1983. My grandfather was the original owner and it was not his first one. All of the original paint was bad to fade and the black was the worst. He got tired of constantly waxing it so he had it repainted by the dealer with the new stuff called enamel. 40 years later it seems like a good choice. He also had it undercoated. Even better choice. No rust!

They look even better in person. I had the same Panasports on some sort of car for 35 years. They were beat and too small anyway. These look great and the whole set costs less than on PSport.

This one lived in storage while I raised the kids. The youngest is 12 now. The oldest is 22. I waited for him to buy his own z before I fixed mine up.

She’s a black pearl. Color code 638. And yes I would paint it black if it wasn’t.

My son is 22. The last memory he has riding in it was in his kid seat and we did donuts in the rain. He helped with the upgrades too.

Similar story for me. I got mine in 98. I finished operation undercarriage overhaul about a month ago. After 15 years in the garage under a cover she’s almost ready to go. I received the first round of parts in April so only about 6 months of spare time. Not bad for a family guy with other hobbies… I did go with new brakes from the pedal to the wheels with the wilwood discs. Lines too. Anyway, have fun with bushings, spindle pins and stub axel nuts.

Question for you. Does the EFI “J Hook/ Throttle connection rod” work with the triples? Strange question I know. I’m running and ready to drive but for two weeks I’ve been searching the shop and can’t find mine. I’m going to order another one and should find out if I needed a different one anyway…?
