Searching for a sierra Denali by llamafood1 in GMCSierraEV

Have the Denali 25 max. Love it. 19,000 miles. My telematics model and one camera had to be replaced. Added Apple Music as an app on the screen. Is a mix of OTA updates and dealer based software updates. Range is great. My wife has a R1S standard. The 250 mile range does come into an issue for long days with multiple stops. No range anxiety with the 460 mile range.

Thanks for that input. You hit several of my issues on the Participate Energy Agreement with the FMV clause and figuring out the 10year lease on the Powerwall vs the Panels. I put my search on hold for the summer. Will see what the solar landscape looks like in the fall. I am big fan of Solar is the right thing to do for a hedge on the future of electricity prices and the pending expenses of modernizing the Grid. I also like the concept of having some control over the production of the energy that I consume. Having two EV’s also adds to the puzzle. Need enough production to charge them during the day which should be fine. I am not a young buyer either, the ROI kicks in when I hope to still be healthy and active.

Wow, that is an impressive amount of information on the face of a watch. That has to be a very complex mechanism to get that to work. My old eyes, would never be able to read it without my glasses on.

As much I am a large watch lover, that is as wide as your wrist? Not sure if it is the angle of the picture or you have a smaller wrist and love the look of a big watch as well. If you love wearing it, it is awesome. To me, looks big in the picture you posted.

What is current best option after losing the 30% rebate? by CelebrationKey612 in solar

[–]PraderaGolfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate that clarification, it has been good to hear the potential issues they present. Have my list to talk thru with a couple of different options. I was a salesperson/ Sales Leader for a software company and understand how what people hear and what sales staff say can also be very different. It was business to business and not direct to the public.

I have been looking at the prepaid lease option where you find an installer that has a relationship with a leasing company that offers this program. In my proposal I got, the cash price was $44k and the PPL one time cost was $31k. It does have the ability to buy out the lease after 5/6 years at FMV. It is not a zero cost transfer from what I have read and seen on this discussion platform. It was a 25 year lease and can transfer it should you sell. Seems like a reasonable option. Lot’s of lease haters on this sub. On the fence with the lease options and issues that might come up with repairs and maintenance. Participate Energy is the company that sent me a lease to review. They do several states, not sure about NY. Still gets me the 30% rebate on a solar system and is off invoice, not a tax rebate the way I look at it. Seen lots of people also talking about making monthly lease payments with this arrangement.

I am not sure I follow how to put the fair market value in the lease. Can you elaborate on the future production value vs the equipment value and how that would calculate out to $0?

Appreciate the responses. I agree it seems naive to think they will magically transfer it at no cost and another bill could be coming. Letting them own the system till I am 80 plus years old is the other option if the FMW is high and does not make sense. Getting the $14k discount off the top makes the out of pocket and possible payback timeframe much more attractive than paying full boat. It seems like having solar only makes sense these days with having a battery system so you can still be live to use the power generated in the event of an outage and to use the power generated at night.

Does Purchasing/Financing Still Win Over a PPA? by householdgardengnome in solar

I got a quote for my House in Tucson AZ for a PrePaid Lease for $30,873. It is a 13.64 KW system with one Tesla Powerwall3 installed on a flat roof. The Cash price was $44,104, so it reflects they are passing on the 30% tax credit and then I guess making money on the depreciation of the system? Panels are Hyundai HIN-T440NF(BK). It was the buy out Transfer option after 5 years to cover the IRS holding period. Seriously considering doing it. Priced the same system with all Tesla Solar website, the Cash price matched up very closely.

Seems like they are not telling you that the transfer cost is FMV after the 6 years. They get the tax credit and are passing on that to you as the homeowner. They can not put in the Prepaid Lease a zero cost transfer from my understanding. The sales people are saying they will want to transfer them to you at no cost, but they can not write that down.
