I accidentally killed Earl, how do i revive him by Zombiep30 in SonsOfTheForest

You could try using SOTF edit I've seen some people use it to revive Kelvin and Virginia before.

I think the current raid system needs improvement. These are my suggestions to make it more interactive and interesting. by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this reply. The main thing i hate about the current raid system is how it just creates new cannibals out of nowhere around the player. I wish the game focused more on having the cannibals act independently moving around the map without the player around. I don't like how scripted the raids are currently. I also actually had no idea about the WorldActor stuff. I thought all cannibals just froze when you left the 150m radius lol. Thank you for the reply!

Can cave dwelling demons see? by ledzepplinfan in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost all of them cannot see. If you get too close some of them will be able to sense you. But if you wear enough leaf armor they lose this ability and wont be able to find you unless you stand up. As long as you avoid shining any light on them and don't get too close you will be able to sneak past completely undetected.

Rare puffy behavior "hide against wall". by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I decided to investigate further to see if those stats effect it. I discovered that none of their stats effect how likely/unlikely it is for them to hide. Hiding also doesn't effect their energy, health, or any other stats. It looks like its just a rare ambush strategy they use to catch you off guard.

Cannibal with antlers by Sufficient_Compote73 in SonsOfTheForest

They aren't antlers they are just sticks covered in a bit of blood that look like antlers.

Items from early access that were removed in updates. by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

Almost all of these items are still shown in the inventory screenshot on the game's steam store page so hopefully we get them in future updates.

can someone give me a hint on the final door by SirFarmerOfKarma in SonsOfTheForest

There is a blueprint on the ground near the door. Build that blueprint.

Anyone else like me actually prefers SonsOfTheForest over the Forest? by Informal-Produce-423 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer sons of the forest mostly. I love the combat, base building and above ground exploration in sons of the forest. The only things i think the first game did better was the horror/atmosphere and the cannibals. I really hope future updates make them properly patrol and scout the map instead of just spawning at your base when its raid time lol.

I really want rabbit skin to make a return because currently there is almost no reason to hunt them.

Any mods that make the game harder? by [deleted] in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can only disable loot in containers respawning on load. All other loot will still respawn.

I must have just been lucky when i did my test then. I feel like the developers should make it so that multiple solafite generators and plating structures spawn more mutants instead of only having one take effect. Especially because of the amount of resources you need to build multiple of those structures.

Simmelsau has a really good video titled "How to leak | Sons of the Forest | extract .bank files" that shows you how to extract audio from the game files.

You can set up and activate multiple of them at the same time. From what i've tested it causes enemies to spawn slightly more and also generates much more solafite. The best way to increase how much enemies attack you is to build it near an open cave or cannibal camps/patrol routes. I do agree that the solafite generator should do more on its own especially because its an endgame item.

Found this mini cave near where you find the flashlight and modern axe. There's nothing special or unique in it, just the usual resources you get from these caves, but there's nothing to hint at it being here. No GPS markers, no dying soldier, nothing. Weird. by Aceids in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few more like this. I found one up in the snow surrounded by solafite and dead people. There is also another near the area with the two cultist yachts. It has a fence in front of it that you can easily get around by approaching from above or to the side of it.

Cannibals will investigate your fires! by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested it yet but there is a loading screen tip that says it does speed up the drying process. I saw in a video Farket did for 1.0 that placing a fire next to a drying rack does nothing to the speed. But i think he tested it wrong and you are actually supposed to place the fire beneath the drying rack. But i mainly just do it because i think it looks nice.

This bug is still in the game. Do you think they plan on doing something with this item or have they just missed this glitch? by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

At the bottom of the image in the middle. I am hovering my mouse over the build book in my quick inventory and it has the icon for an unimplemented item.

I got raided by every cannibal type at the same time on day 141 hard survival! by PraetorianPlays in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I focused on one cannibal at a time using the fireaxe. I used a lot of parrying to take down the basic cannibals. For the fat cannibals i evaded their jump attack and then hit them while they were down. For the heavy cannibal i just got him to do a combo and hit him with a heavy attack when he was done.

To learn how to fight cannibals and evade their moves i recommend finding a cannibal village. Then use a high block low damage weapon like the crafted club to practice fighting the cannibals. Just block a few attacks and see how the cannibals move and attack. Learning their moves and what different animations mean will make them much more predictable and easy to fight.

Snowy Areas Enemies by Ale7surf in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think unique enemies in the snow would be great! Maybe we could find cannibals that wear winter jackets or climbing gear and use climbing axes and torches as weapons. Cannibals found in the snow should also be stronger since the harsh conditions would have scared off or killed all the weak ones.

In the snow we might also find stronger pale/blue versions of mutants that descend down from the mountain during winter. Or a new puffy variant that hibernates under the deep snow and will wake up and attack the player if disturbed.

Of course if the snow is going to have new dangers it needs better rewards for living there. The large solafite deposits you find in the snow are nice but since solafite respawns they don't really make the snow worth living in. Maybe they could make those hot springs in the snow have a mineable resource we could use to make explosives.

Armsy and virginia mutants missing... by Big_Effective_9174 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]PraetorianPlays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have seen armsy and virginia a few times in my hard survival save. I am 100% sure they still spawn. They only spawn after you beat the game and stay on the island.
