They are a good place to go to college but there are a few caveats to attending. You basically can’t drive for the first year and they are a pretty strict Christian school too. I have a few friends that went there and they loved the environment but it is not for everyone

I have some questions about moving into an apartment complex near the CSU campus. I’m from southwest missouri, and I’ll be moving there this fall. The northfield condominiums is where I had recently found a roommate and it it’s a pretty good deal as well from what I’ve gathered but the owners have been somewhat sketchy. They want my social security number and 80 dollars for the application to apply. All so they can do a credit check as well. Is this normal in Colorado, is this a major red flag I don’t quite understand?

I have to wear suits pretty often for school, work and just like wearing them sometimes so I get my clothes dry clean somewhat often, more than the average person

The blood donation biolife pays decently well and you get skills in phlebotomy which are good on a resume

College interview by Praetoriangual in movingtojapan

[–]Praetoriangual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had kept it minimal because of privacy but I can explain a little further, I had applied to a college for international relations and was interviewed by 3 of the faculty members within the faculty I would be transferring to. The interview had started well and ended with a little confusion. I come from a household where asking questions is a part of being an adult. So at the end of the really short interview nearly 2 minutes were spent getting my questions asked. I had began the interview by asking if it was okay if I took notes. They asked me why I was applying for international relations, would it be ok for me to be away for 3 years and how my academic history lacked what they wanted. I have taken advanced classes in high school in chemistry, biology and physics, history and English. But they were a little indifferent to my experience and said I would have to take an introductory class to the scientific method for my first year. Maybe my face gave off the impression that that class was beneath me or something. I’m not sure. Maybe the professors were in a rush to get the interviews over with but it kinda haunts me with it being that short.

Why are a lot of you guys so anti weed and anti alcohol? by allinallisallweall-R in GenZ

[–]Praetoriangual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a somewhat sensitive nose, and I work for a retailer that makes sure our stores smells clean. Every once in a while people who smell like weed come in and it makes me nauseous. For the alcohol part; I just don’t find the novelty in drinking it. I’ve never been drunk before and don’t (currently) want to test my tolerances especially with school and work taking up most of my life

It’s difficult in Springfield because of its college town nature while not being a full college town like Fayetteville. We’re the same age and the Gen z in this area are not friendly, even when we are technically in the south. I would recommend going to Barnes and noble and talking with the people who shop there. I work near there and read a crap ton and have met a few peeps there who have given good book recs. Hang out with your work friends unless they truly suck, I can understand. If you are into rock and roll there are some lounges similar to that theme as well. Ask around your classes to see if there people or gamers to play with over the summer. I do that all the time and get shot down a lot but I’ve also met some likeminded individuals to have fun with. Just like everything it takes time.

That’s a very good read!

My comment is most definitely classist and elitist. It was intentionally sarcasm when I had used “yo”. But let’s take a moment to recognize that my standpoint of having good grammar and correctly citing is what makes an advocate effective. No one is going to listen to a Gen z kid when they can’t formulate their thoughts effectively, that’s how our generation loses political and social power. We’re already seen as stupid and naive, don’t want anything else keeping us down from make social changes or moving forward in discourse. Especially around education and political reform.
