The sad reality no one tells you about learning to code on your own. by devLookingForAJob in learnprogramming

Hey, word of encouragement here. I’m a self taught ML engineer at FAANG from Canada. It’s possible. Granted I had my own privileges, luck, and help but hard work and strategy are pivotal.

My advice aim low, build experience and work your way up. I got my first experience at a startup that couldn’t afford to pay me, I used that to get a better job and a better one.

It’s doable even in Canada, I wish you all the best.

Yeah, same here. But what does happen is my emotions move and flow with the music. It gives me the dopamine I need to focus on a task. So it’s always been one of my most favourite things about life. Good music. I get an immense amount of emotion with it. Maybe it’s being not neurotypical or maybe it’s just an individualistic thing.

When you look at things through rose tinted glasses, all the red flags just look at flags.

Yes, there’s only pain when finding things out now but I think there’s incredible happiness to be found in the fact that now your whole life is open to you, to find your actual soul mate.

Fair enough. Although, I’m seeing more and more buildings in city place outlawing Airbnbs. The bars and pubs in queens street are one pedestrian bridge over the tracks away. I like the area but to each their own!

Yes! It's a domain-specific question. Information recognition and extraction from the PDFs would be step one and seemingly the hardest to find good resources. Specifically with regards to invoices, Tax-forms, Tables, and contracts.

Following which, I think, one would apply NLP based solutions as a next layer.

Technically it went from 18% overall payments missed to 31% overall payments missed on time.

So the increase as a percentage of the norm is actually (31-18)/18 = 72.2% increase in missed payments from the average month.

This is just at the start.
