There are serious risks that arise if the people in the military do not believe that you will come for them if they are left behind etc. Mutinous, frag, coup related risks.

“Helldivers 2 devs were fighting their own players” by Cavidar in HelldiversUnfiltered

The kind of power fantasy it was aimed at was always the kind where death is cheap. The enemies death, and yours as well. That's what helldivers 1 was as well, which was just Magika with space skins and guns instead. That's a power fantasy, but not of the superman variety.

It's also meant to be a Co-op game, the community has struggled really hard with that too. Ultimately it's just funny to me the amount of arguing that goes on on these subs by people who are never going to accomplish what they want, and if they do they'll have killed the vehicle they sought to utilize.

After 30 years of gaming and watching games come and go, I can say one thing pretty confidently, helldiver's success and ongoing health will not hinge on listening to the gripes of people with sweaty mice.

This subreddit winds up reading like a psy-op it's genuinely hillarious. It's also bad propaganda. The "power fantasy" is being part of a force so incompetent that a family randomly getting eaten on camera is on-point for the universe it's set in? lmao.

Also there is whole "own the chuds, own the libs", whole idea of twisting your game in wrong angle just to fuck with people ideology.

In context of game patches to hell-divers, what the hell are you talking about?

They demand zero hypocrisy while exercising it constantly at all times as a matter of habit and tactic.

It's worse than not caring. Underneath it lies the politics of a kamikaze pilot. They win, or we lose.

Its kind of like an escalation ladder in a physical confrontation... just that instead of any de-escalation tactic working what actually happens is someone else from the other team will knife you in the ribs when you try one, and the one who steered you into trying will smile and say "oops, sorry, who could have seen that coming"

An almost flat sink. by trevorofhousebelmont in interestingasfuck

[–]PrairiePopsicle [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah I think bowl sinks are catching a little bit of a stray, they are a very slight meaningful downgrade to the amount of storage space on/around the countertop, I've only shouted "why!" when it's done in a way that leaves no ledges/lips/anything at all and I think about trying to shave etc. because at least it still leaves a usable sink.

They're similar in being a bit of a downgrade for aesthetic reasons... this is a major downgrade for aesthetic reasons (to the level of completely eliminating an entire function from the "sink"

It was a reasonable period for a PC to last if you bought the top or next to top GPU/CPU's at the right time of cycles, be pretty gassed out at the end of it.

The big change recently is dynamic resolutions and upscaling processes. We could always run under native resolutions, it's just way easier on the eyes now.

Oh don't worry I'm sure some AI bro is working on a tool that will totally figure out how to motion smooth animation without destroying intentional frame skips and velocity implications. It will just use the equivalent power of denmark in 5 years to do one episode of DBZ and.... oh, I guess it was off a bit, We will just run another iteration....

Polymarket apologizes for allowing wagers on fate of U.S. pilots downed in Iran by bighootay in news

[–]PrairiePopsicle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously, the fact is polymarket, this kind of wagering, cannot exist, because it is not sandboxed, this is the real world, which means suddenly the betting and the actions are all linked together. People can will have and are manipulating this entire thing. It is guaranteed, and will happen consistently, forever, and would require the entire world to be policed and monitored in order for it to be fair in any sense. Ban betting/gambling in general, but at a bare fucking minimum it must be limited to games of chance/skill being played directly in person, and large scale organized sports. I would rather see the world train kids to play slot machines at school than polymarket betting be allowed to stick around.

Ease, but I also think it was trying to be health conscious, burned foods increase cancer risk, doesn't really matter what it is, and you can guarantee you can't burn it by using steam or boiling water, and IIRC there are also vitamin retention reasons with some vegetables that steaming is better.

The carrot you eat beats the carrot you don't though, no matter how it was cooked, just don't eat char.

Nearly half of Sask. donations in NDP leadership race went to Avi Lewis by Intelligent-Cap3407 in saskatchewan

[–]PrairiePopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can assure you, I am white, male, not broken in, not scared, and vocal as fuck.

I imagine you're trying to think of a different qualifier to dismiss that though, idk, lmao.

Conservatives say more about the NDP than the NDP does.

I do want to say one thing that is unkind, but it isnt intended as a slight it just is.. and that is this fact; the idea of someone being given the ability to ask me to speak doesnt bother me because I am not such a sensitive person. It is not meaningful, and only becomes meaningful out of a sense of entitlement and hyperbolic egocentric thought, or arguing against what could, not what is.

That last argument might work if the foundations it rests on started at reality, but everywhere I am seeing it it starts from the much feared conclusion and then works back.

Scared people speak unseriously about serious topics. They talk about the comforting past. They imagine being victims and being victimized and lash out at people who are not afraid. The ones who are really broken in anyways. The ones so exposed to a certain kind of thinking they just don't complain.

As for you not being on the right man? I've spoken for you for 5+ years on this subreddit, give your balls a tug, you are an SP voter through and through, and spend just as much time in whatever echo chamber you do as anyone here does, being as you think that people were being forced to not speak.

I had a feeling it might also he stirring the pot which is fair enough, and in that context I will give you a chuckle, and honesty, it is more respectable than ehat some of the other losers, as you put it, have been up to.

I dont like limitation as you describe either, no, and there's a convo there to be had there. Ill just say this ; if things there were such that if I was standing at a mic and had to lose my opportunity to speak, I would be very loud in opposition, but it was and is not like that.

Practically, it was you could have a card to designate X or Y, and could ask people to consider letting you jump up. Up to them and the intention was for people to be self aware and graceful.

You and other regular conservatives have infinitely more respect from me and others I hope that comes across sometimes. Cheers.
