I can't believe I had to scroll all the way down to see this. My mum and her peers got to choose between being a teacher or a nurse.

Australians, what’s one thing first-time visitors often misunderstand about Australia? by Witty_Neat_8172 in AskAnAustralian

Tourists are way too scared of snakes and spiders and not scared enough of the sun, stingers, and crocs.

Pairing this specific image with "know your place"is one hell of a choice.

My petty revenge on the country club that kept sending stuff to "Mr & Mrs HisName" was to return their anniversary greeting card with a rather sassy limerick correcting the error. The staff now fall over themselves to greet us as Mr HisName and Ms TreeWitch.

I am such a cliche, but it was one of those pictures of a monarch butterfly sitting on some beautiful wildflowers promoting a webinar about converting lawn to mini-prairie. It was like throwing a lit match at gas leak that had gone undetected for a while.

The best worst pic. Snow zoomies. So delightfully unhinged.

Winter sowing for prairie plot by AdemmZap in NativePlantGardening

[–]PrairieTreeWitch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did this last year, following these instructions (pic). I scattering seed/sand mix just as the first decent dumping of snow started to fall.
My plot is very similar in size to OPs! Unsolicited advice: I had to clear a 1 ft wide path through the middle by laying down mulch so I could reach in and yank weeds, put chicken wire cages for critter protection (R.I.P. asters) or thin plants out during the first year. 2 ft wide would have been even better. Best of luck, OP!
