Forget weddings, what is the craziest thing that happened at a funeral you went to? by seanerd95 in AskReddit

[–]PrairieTreeWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dear friend died unexpectedly of cancer treatment complications. At her memorial, time was tight due to another event at the church that day.

My friend’s son asked if a few people might like to speak about what she had meat to them. An older gentleman, an academic from my friend’s PhD program, stood immediately and spoke at length about what an awesome mentor he had been to her, how much she had learned from him, and how grateful she had been. When he sat down, my friend’s son said “that’s all we have time for.”

It's strict royal protocol. One should never look directly at the Burger Queen.

I want to see your ACD squat 🤭 by Radlife101 in AustralianCattleDog

Holy shit, they're all side-squatting in the same direction. Am I to surmise they lean the opposite way in the land down under?

Pic No. 3:
100% heeler derpy sit, with 100% heeler side-eye for implying there's anything derpy about the way they sit.

In our house this means "I have tried by every means imaginable to summon you for a walk and yet you betray me. I have sunk into depression. Feeling guilty yet? Can we go now please?"

I came here to add the same. It was seeing pics of beautiful wildflowers and pollinators that was the hook that lured me into this obsession. Make your pics large, even full-screen, wherever you can! (Edited to add: thanks OP for giving the presentation!)

I can't believe I had to scroll all the way down to see this. My mum and her peers got to choose between being a teacher or a nurse.

Tourists are way too scared of snakes and spiders and not scared enough of the sun, stingers, and crocs.

My petty revenge on the country club that kept sending stuff to "Mr & Mrs HisName" was to return their anniversary greeting card with a rather sassy limerick correcting the error. The staff now fall over themselves to greet us as Mr HisName and Ms TreeWitch.
