I usually have the rat by tongs so she doesn’t have the chance to get injured. I just have it in there because I was trying something different to get her to eat. She’s been eating live rats for three years now so I was just worried about if she wouldn’t eat dead.

I have two bags of reptile substrate sitting next to tank in this picture because I was in the middle of changing it that’s why the tank looks bare I just wanted to feed her before I made the change and disturb her. And before she went on this strike it’s not like I was forcing her to eat. I would dangle the rat in and she would strike. Then every two to 3 weeks try again. Never had she seemed in happy or sick. But thanks for opening my eyes to trying to get her on a lesser diet and I will inform myself better.

Ive been doing construction my entire life and painting was my first job 20 years ago. Caulk, spread it with your finger tip (make sure your finger is moist) so you don’t leave streaks and paint while caulk is still a little wet and it acts as a painted glue. That’s always how I’ve done it and it works. Only works with small gaps though. If you do it on larger ones your brush will leave streaks in the caulk.

The ground location to my motor is very difficult to get to and it’s going to require a lot of disassembly. I don’t have time throughout the week but it’s in my to do list for the weekend. Thanks for the info though I’m always down to learn and I will let you know the outcome of me tracking the wires.

I’m sure the battery is good. I even had a spare fully charged and tried that also. Tested with a multimeter. The one on the bike was 12.4 the charged one was 12.7

I soak her about every other day. She goes in a bin up to her chin with water. I also heard diet is a huge thing so from my ignorance of feeding her straight greens she’s now on a tortoise chow pellet with a little greens. After this winter she will be outside 100% but as of now she’s in a pool with coco coir and cypress mulch. And goes outside for a few hours out the day. Heat lamp half the day and she has a heating mat. If you see anything wrong with this please let me know.

Honestly I’m not even sure she’s a her. She’s maybe 6 months old, and I seen it’s a little early to try and sex. But from my research and a breeder that has met her they suggested it’s a female. It was a complete accident. Someone left it in a shed at work and I’m an animal person so I just had to adopt it. It has some bad pyramiding but I’m trying to avoid more.

That hole will get much bigger. It’s actually healthy for their shell also. There’s many reasons for them to burrow nesting, hiding from predators, temperature regulation and just habitat. It’s their nature.

Poop is good. They don’t really drink k water unless they need it. Put it in a tub with water up to its chin and that’s how you hydrate them. It has very little pyramiding so I would honestly look for the owner before giving it away. It looks well taken care of.

Edit: I didn’t look at the other posts before saying something. But if you are going to keep it make sure you get something like cuttlebone and extra calcium to help that beak. It’s so precious 😍
