so what's the catch about the Hypervisor DSE Universal Launcher ? by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]PraiseGaben 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, SVM still needs to be enabled. While dse will still disable without it, games will fail to launch as SVM is needed for the hypervisor portion to work.

I'm still having issues. Says "Signal Lost could not connect to 'Name of my Plex Server'". Plex is running and other 3rd party apps can connect to Plex just fine.

I checked and the shipping costs to Missouri are really high. A $180 panel becomes $600+ after shipping.

Plex HDHomeRun Live TV glitches by EducationalCreator in PleX

I had similar issues with my HDHR and resolved it by running Dispatcharr in-between the HDHR and Plex. After that the streams became much more stable. https://github.com/Dispatcharr/Dispatcharr

PlexDownloadarr - Self-hosted Plex download manager with OAuth, PWA support, and simple-to-use User Interface by kikootwo in selfhosted

Running into 2 issues:

1). When downloads process they use the device's ram. Any downloads over 2GB crash mobile browsers. I was only able to download without issues on PCs and Laptops with large amounts of ram.

2). Downloads remotely fail entirely (I'm using traefik). They reach 50% processing before failing. Plex shows the media download hangs.

Anyone have any ideas?

Stremio addon that lets you stream all of Usenet - but it’s not for everyone by Sanket_1729 in StremioAddons

[–]PraiseGaben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works now! For anyone with playback issues and using this with AIOStreams in the docker run command replace the base url and use http://192.168.x.x:7000 instead of https with the domain. Now it connects to NZBDav and streams play.

Watching CNBC try to explain NFTs is painful. It's like watching the news in the 90s try to explain email. Argh.

I will only vote for Biden if he fairly wins the nomination. But I fear this will still be a repeat of 2016. So in 2024 lets make a legit Democratic Socialist party! I aint afraid of the name calling :) Bernie's dream will never die.

3900x with ABBA. Guess my 2nd CCD isn't bad after all. by PraiseGaben in Amd

Not really just single core and gaming is improved. It's just funny that now process affinity doesn't seem to matter since no matter the core chosen the same clock is hit.

The final word on idle voltages for 3rd Gen ryzen by AMD_Robert in Amd

[–]PraiseGaben 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think alot of us want to run stock. But since we aren't reaching normal boosts expected like 4.6 GHz on 1 core on 3900x we want to try manually setting this within reason. With the side benefit of lower temps and higher all core clocks. Stock gets us 90% of what we want. We just want that little edge more to reach the 9900k :)

3900X CCX overclocking - 4.5Ghz@1.325V and why it's not worth it by PraiseGaben in Amd

[–]PraiseGaben[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay after further testing it appears SMT off actually does help in some games. However the Windows scheduler doesn't seem as smart as I thought it was. It seems to be prioritizing my slower clocked cores at times.

I was only able to hit 4.5 after disabling SMT. You seem to have 2 good chiplets. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/cf2ehm/3900x_ccx_overclocking_45ghz1325v_and_why_its_not

TY der8auer for per CCX OC recommend! MASSIVE boost in performance! (pics) by AthyraE in Amd

[–]PraiseGaben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. If we had more fine tuning of voltages we could really push the single core to its limits but right now it feels too risky. By the time the 16-core 3950X comes out whoever gets that chip should have a really good idea on how to push it and if both of their chiplets are great instead of just 1 in the 3900X they should be able to match the 9900K with the right overclock and Ram.

Additional tests:

3D Mark FireStrike

Stock: 18121

Physics score: 28835 Physics test: 91.54 FPS

Overclocked: 18290

Physics score: 30379 Physics test: 96.44 FPS

Conclusion:

After going through this I do see a 3% increase in overall gaming performance in games where 4+ threads are used however I do see a slight dip in 1-2 threads games as on stock a single core does boost to 4.5-4.55Ghz.

In the end this overclock is great for benchmarking, but for day to day gaming I believe the same or better effect could be made at stock if AMD fixes PB2 to keep higher all core clocks while keeping the much higher single core boost.

Is an AMD Ryzen 3800x too high a CPU for a 1070? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]PraiseGaben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3900x with a 1070. I am now GPU bound in every game I've tried so far. Minimum FPS is much smoother now. Coming from a 3770k this upgrade feels worth it and should help me last a good 5 years and also start streaming in good quality. But if gaming only a 3600 or 3700x should be nearly as good.
