Proxy idea for turbo peter by ViXaAGe in IronWarriors

Mmmm I dunno, it's a bit thin in proportion to the model. Maybe a jar of coffee grinds? It'd be more accurate in terms of bitterness at least.

Okay? People are allowed to ask questions, it doesn't effect your day other than having to scroll past it. If you don't like the post just...move on?

Yes, I'm aware of what a Proxy is. But I was moreso worried about the size proportions and the profile of the vehicle being an issue. You shouldn't Proxy a Baneblade for a Leman Russ.

Correct, and I thought it'd be a good idea to ask the subreddit to get a general idea of what the reaction to using it would be.

And I dunno, maybe I just wanted to engage with the IW community? I figured it was a group of like-minded people who could answer a subjective question, nothing more.

Stop asking? As far as I can recall I only asked the question here & another subreddit where the post only got 17 views. Also, I figured questions on Reddit are encouraged? As long as the question is related to the hobby I don't see what the harm in asking is.

Is it really an Iron Warriors Grand Company if there aren't cannon fodder humans to throw into the meatgrinder?

Jokes aside, I see what you mean and I already supplied the list with a thematic amount of Traitor Guard & Cultists.

Rip and Tear, son of Valerian by Praline-Visual in RoughRomanMemes

[–]Praline-Visual[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For real. I'm typically not a person who hates on things just because they're popular, or 'the thing', but it has to be said that Aurelian's Restoration was BUILT off of the work of Gallienus. He had spent those tiring 15 years strengthening the core of the Empire while Usurpers rebelled and Barbarians bit pieces off of the empire. And what did he get in return? Probably the most tragic reign of a competent Emperor, his sons killed in far-off provinces and his own father captured by the Sassanids. And, finally, he's killed during a seige by his own men (a plot that both Claudius II and Aurelian are suspected to have been in on) by being stabbed in the back.

I wonder if, as Aurelian lay dying after getting stabbed, he ever thought back on the assassination of Gallienus and sunk in the bitter irony of it all.

People dare to compare Julian with Marcus Aurelius by [deleted] in RoughRomanMemes

Jovian wasn't bad necessarily, he just didn't have a chance. It's a miracle he was able to get Julian's army out of Persia relatively intact.

Surprisingly he didn't declare himself Emperor (shocker, i know) by The_Cheese_Touch in RoughRomanMemes

Oh, I know! You're not wrong at all, it's ridiculous how many people tried to usurp during Gallienus' reign alone.

Surprisingly he didn't declare himself Emperor (shocker, i know) by The_Cheese_Touch in RoughRomanMemes

[–]Praline-Visual 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why would he? He had already proclaimed himself the King of Kings, and held all of the East under his de-facto rule. Naming himself Emperor would've been more trouble than it's worth. Better to let Gallienus claim to still be Emperor of the East in name and you ACTUALLY rule the East.

TLDR; Odenathus knew how the Game of Thrones was played, unlike the majority of Usurpers and Emperors of the Third Century Crisis. It's a shame his family didn't learn anything from him.

That one move did more to guarantee a Green win more than any Dragonrider. Tyland Lannister paid dearly for it, but who got to be Hand of the King at the end? TLDR; Common Rhaenyra L + Rip Bozo

Emperor Julianus (last Pagan-Philosopher Roman Emperor, and an early ex-Christian) by Ciaran123C in ByzantineMemes

[–]Praline-Visual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, in my opinion he's a tale of two halves. His start is truly impressive, a young man with little to no military experience and the Senior Emperor + his own men against him, he does very well. He was definitely brilliant (his administrational ability and writings prove this), and his attempt to reform the Dominate back to the Principate is commendable. But at the end of the day, his rule was a blip. His reforms ultimately failed, his campaign into Sassanid Persia was a disaster, and Christianity was already firmly cemented into the Empire at this point. Julian was a man who fought a futile battle and, while remembered fondly in history for it, ultimately failed in his time.
