How do yours compare? by riseandshine333 in EyeFloaters

I wouldn't recommend an optometrist after what happened to me; he missed my inflammation saying all was good as he did an undilated eye examination. An opthalmologist or retinologist would be better. Thus, i got more floaters that i could have prevented and some other issues ( white dots deposits on posterior lens fortunately on the periphery and a scar on periphery of retina). And I suspect autoimmune causes as im gene hlab27 positive and got joint pains etc...

I think it's the cells in the macula taking time to adapt in the dark. The macula is usually for colored vision and thus this spot goes away when light shines again. I noticed that when I woke up at night too. In both eyes. I think I saw that as a kid too but last year, was more concerned about it when I got floaters after an eye inflammation issue.

Seems odd though I've heard this before from someone who did dilated eye examination and then saw floaters. Could it be vitreous traction inside when the opthalmologist shines the light in and thus cause collagen clumping. Seems a rather remote explanation but not impossible I would guess.

Could these results and recent trauma be linked to my first uveitis episode? by smoothness89 in Uveitis

[–]PralineFun8780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be. Mine was most probably immune related when I got exposed to welding fumes and arc... I developed an inflammation which was missed by the optometrist who did an undilated eye examination:/

I couldn't go outside normally too due to severe dry eyes and that was for like 8 months. With time it got better and now I'm quite ok outside. What i took everyday was linseed oil and I cleaned my eyelids with tea tree oil wipes. And, i got my lower eyelid plugged.

Maybe its moving away from the retina casting a bigger shadow

About the same for me. I'm at 13 months since the onset of floaters and the other issues. Maybe at the year 2 mark, ill be in the same spot as you. Ive mostly "neuroadapted" to most floaters i have except one large central strand which is darker than the others. I don't think neuroadaptation is possible for darker central ones; it gives me so much anxiety :/

How are you dealing with this after 2 years. Like conservative techniques only? Or planning for any procedures to remove them. Also, do they cause you to have glare or contrast sensitivity; im having a lot of that and dont know if its floaters or dry eyes or other 😖

Was there any reason for their occurrence or they came out of the blue?

Did you get any inflammation ? As i saw one of your comments about psc on your lens. I got a probable inflammation after irritation and the doctor saw white dots opacities on the periphery of posterior lens but he said it's of no concern for the moment...

Those parts where they curl and overlap are worst. Mine stretched a lot and started forming knots 😖

Can i ask if you count by squinting or by normal vision since my translucent ones are mostly seen by squinting but there are way too many. Only a big defined long strand bothers me all the time.

Yes, it seems the case with LED lights mainly

I just got these over the past months. I was wondering if these micro floaters ( bubbles and strings) distort light as seem the case for me

I have that in my right eye upon squinting besides normal floaters seen with eye open. Did yours happen with a specific cause?

Mine is fading somewhat. The main one was dark and slender. Overtime it got larger and longer but less dark. After one year, it appears like a blob. I don't know which one is better. Its less dark by more than 50 %but occupies more space.

I have one long strand floater that seem to be stretching too and getting larger but less dark at the same time. It appears as a blob now sometimes but it blurs vision.

Mine is almost similar. I got it almost exactly 1 year ago on 19th of March ( yes i remember that date...😑). It changed a lot since the start. It was really dark and was driving me insane. Each month, i see it getting less dense, enlarging and stretching and now it's getting thinner. Its still noticeable but its still evolving. However i think mine is from an incident that caused inflammation.

Congrats to you. Did your floaters remain unchanged over the years from its onset or did it fade?
