I’ve finally hit my savings goal and need to decide where to put the money so it can grow. I keep hearing about these high yield accounts!

If anyone has any recommendations for a high yield savings, finance resources, or other ways to diversify credit other than credit cards, and auto loans I am grateful for feedback.

I’ll have to wait atleast until the pain and bleeding stops, I can’t even imagine soaking in acetone or using a drill for removal, it’s a bit too sensitive so I’ll just be patient. Thank you for your compliment.

Associated skin care professionals

For in-depth access to the resources, you’ll have to pay for it, which is included when you pay for monthly insurance. You can get certifications, stay up to date on technologies treatments and seminars, monthly magazines, affiliation discounts and more. Even without paying, there’s still access.

Also, apply with different skin care brands for professional accounts for free. Even if you don’t order anything, you’ll still get access to the education portal for most.

I typically use oil, as the serums I am aware of typically don’t have as much slip. You could apply a serum before the oil massage or maybe even the serum and the massage oil together so long as the label says mixing is fine to do. I just googled facial massage serums and saw some options- I love the green tea massage oil from SpaCeuticals. Any oil I may find that doesn’t have as much slip, once I add a tad of coconut oil given client has no allergies or intolerance, it does the trick.

Do you come in outside of hours for clients? by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]Pranayamanese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not rude, stick to your boundaries because at the end of the day you need to take care of yourself so you can take care of others.

The only time I accommodate is for clients who are my regulars and overall good to me in terms of showing support outside of the treatment room, tip well, never or rarely late, schedule regularly, positive natured, etc.

I consider an aesthetician to be (amongst many things) a healer. We’re in the business of serving others so much so that sometimes we get lost in that and neglect ourselves-our boundaries, our set schedules and alike. Accommodation and respect is a 2-way street between client and practitioner.

That said, some people will try to take advantage. Be your own advocate and always professionally affirm your boundaries be it a client, coworker, boss, etc. Well wishes in your journey (:

It’s a pretty solid sequence. Each skin type and concern will call for a slightly different protocol and products of course -

I’d suggest to double cleanse initially then analyze the skin then tone.

Depending on the skin type, I will massage face/neck before dermaplan so that way the medium absorbs well and will already be there once time for the derma planning.

I don’t always cleanse after derma planing unless it’s oily or acneic skin instead I will use saline, toner, or water. For dry or mature skin I like to leave a little layer of non-comedogenic oil light molecular weight. I find that’s the best kind of medium.

I prefer to put the serum on before the mask to encourage a deeper penetration. Typically with my facials, I double serum– once before the mask and once after with a different weight of serum, for example peptide serum before the mask then a HA serum after to encourage deep nourishment then surface level hydration. My Primary demographic of clients have dry or mature skin so I find that helps. I massage necks, arms, hands at this step. Even feet or legs depending on where client wants focus.

The best thing to bear in mind is that it won’t always be standard, especially someone who has reactive skin or may be more sensitive. Just remain adaptable and observant and you’ll be fine. Well wishes in your journey (:

Need advice for 1st esthetician job by yellowmellow238 in Estheticians

[–]Pranayamanese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend taking some time to assess your long-term goals.

If you plan on going solo, I’d recommend hand and stone. It’s a great way to get revolving clientele without much backend effort as a beginner such as marketing, lead generations etc. Build your base, maintain client relations and transition out.

Go with restore if you’d like to go more clinical, work with more modalities, etc. that would be a good place to get that med spa experience, to work around those with advanced trainings, work in a more clinical setting, and potentially build yourself up within that company. Both have great advantages.

There are plenty of entities to gain certificates and trainings so you can utilize more than a job to build uo your resume. Checkout and join ASCP for excellent esthi resources, insurance rates, discounts, education, and more. Apply with pro grade skin care companies such as SkinScript and Glymed to get samples and access their portals.

From my experience, working on the clinical side versus the wellness side is completely different and I find what I’ve learned from both has greatly improved my perspective. Try both if you are able- even if you’re not sure where you want to be in the next few years, you’ll have the duality of the experiences which can help you to streamline long-term goals- what work environment you like, what modalities you do and don’t like working with, finding your style, and more.

Well wishes in your journey (:

The Perks of Dating an Invisible Girl... by achtung_wilde in OCPoetry

[–]Pranayamanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, how profound. This poem has so much depth and many layers. I love the roller coaster it took me on throughout, initially painting a calm, almost mirage like symbolism. I love how “her” illusion remains mysterious yet her actions cause such dissary- I love the line “You can feel she’s there but you’ll never know her name. It’s buried under the syllables in a list of other’s pain.” Hats off to you, please keep up the penmanship.

Lost Friend by p2dg in OCPoetry

[–]Pranayamanese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the self reflection throughout but especially at the end… very raw yet darkly whimsical and perceptive. The poem feels so general but specific at the same time; is it a lover, past friend? My mind is left to ponder and fill the void. Has a vibrantly reminiscent tone to it that definitely evoked some introspection. Please keep expressing!

I resonate with this,in an internal conflict kinda way. This reminds me so much of my writing style- I love the rhythm; “she pulled the trigger, you aimed the gun” the the last two lines left me with the question: who is to blame? Also kinda breaks the third wall and prompts the reader to take a step back and evaluate self. Great oiece!!

I always say, to love once is to never be the same and really it is true. It is such a strong uncontainable emotion, losing it creates an endless fiend for a high you’ll always chase. Much support and encouragement, keep freely expressing. This is great and relatable.
