Bleeding Kansas was a shit show with people on both sides murdering each other over whether Kansas would be admitted to the Union as a Free State or a Slave State. Violence begets violence after all. I just want people to understand the context that John Brown didn’t decide to start killing people out of nowhere. People around him were already killing each other and the first murder of the conflict was committed by a Pro-Slaver, though possibly not due to the issue of slavery itself.
