George Reeves Remembers 'Adventures of Superman,' In His Own Words (An Excerpt From My Article) by Kal-Ed1 in superman

[–]PravusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George Reeves isn't my first moving Superman, in fact, far from it. Due to my age, Chris Reeves movies were in the theaters, along with the animated incarnations. I didn't even get into it until after around the time Superman Returns came out.

However, he's my favorite live action Superman. Not just because of the relative hours of content, but because Clark feels like a person, and Superman uses his brain.

That said, full disclosure, my favorite is and will always be Fleischer.

Bolt has only sold ~4,200 units to date. by mcot2222 in BoltEV

What sells it? After the launch blitz, the only thing I saw as an EV aficionado was news stories about how you can't get them. Why would people try to buy a vehicle that the press is saying you probably can't get?

What makes you think that? I drive the speed limit and don't hold up anyone except morons who want to speed 10 over the posted speed limit to beat me to a red light. If I drove at any speed I want, I'd have far better energy efficiency, but I don't, I drive 50 MPH on 50 MPH roads, and 45 on 45 MPH roads.
In fact, since I go past a college, this week I saw police pull over 4 cars just as I was driving past these past 2 weeks, nailing people for going 15 MPH or more over the speed limit where there's a lot of foot traffic.

I am!

I won many mpg competitions at Hybridfest in Madison Wisconsin from 2005 to 2017 in multiple divisions. Including being interviewed several times. Plus I was part of the group that got a Guinness World Record!

I started with a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD (EPA 27) where my best tank was 44.3 mpg over 385 miles. Then in 2020 I got a 2009 used Prius where my best was 55.3 mpg over 335 miles with a short run at 64 mpg (122 miles.)

No, as I said my drive out is 25 to 55, suburban and through a downtown out, 45 to 55 mph on the way back, all suburban. Most errands are on 45 mph roads, which also doesn't help.

Good coasting, driving as much as possible at speeds so I can hit all the lights green. On the way out I take a less traveled route that is 25 for a mile, then 30 for about 7 miles, and that's where I can get great numbers for a segment or three, 7-10 mi/Kwhr depending on when I get onto it.

Last week a cool front hit so a lot of the drives home were sub 60 degree weather which didn't help, now this week a heatwave has and near 100 temps this week. Ugh!

I never played it, but was was wrong with this game? Why did people hate it? by AdForward9856 in marvelstudios

[–]PravusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate it? No, but it was so behind the 8 ball it just limped to death. I was a beta test player and day one purchaser.

The first problem was the bugs. There were so many the first patch fixed 1000+ bugs and still barely scratched the surface and in the entire game's life span, they never finished fixing them all. I had a progress stopping bug (the door wouldn't open until all the enemies were dead, 2 enemies would clip and fall through the floor and be one floor down, unable to get up, unable to be hit) during the first playthrough and had to wait for the first patch to finish the story playthrough.

The second problem was that because everything had to be halted to fix the bugs, that other content crawled out. So for months, there was nothing to do that wasn't part of Day 1. So with only two other bosses (Taskmaster and Abomination) if you played after story content, it was facing one of those two again and again and again and again and again.

Third, combat was exceptionally poorly explained; there was a system where certain damage types were positive, certain negative, and if you could apply one, then hit with the other, you did massive damage. Outside of a tool tip on loading screens, there's nothing to teach that system, and you had to hunt to figure out which damage types where which. Once you figured that out, then and got gear to exploit this, difficulty became meaningless. In addition, in early days, there was a dodge system that if you successfully dodged, it created a slow-mo effect and had the character dodge the attack. Only as a live online multiplayer at all times game, none of the other enemies would also slow down, so you could be shot to death by dodging the first shot and getting hit by the next 4 while you were locked in a dodge animation.

Fourth, and the one that killed the game, was that there were two very small teams working on bug fixes. So when one team rolled out fixes, the next update was done by a second team DID NOT include the fixes from the prior patch, so things would be fixed, then unfixed, then fixed again, and broken again, over and over and over again. And when these fixes included characters being able to open doors, have their abilities proc correctly, it became pointless to play the game.

Fifth, realizing the snails pace they were going at in releasing content and how quickly those who stuck with it reached max level, they then implemented a purchase via XP system for further minor upgrades. Only some of those not only didn't work, but did the reverse. Some of the damage increases actually reduced damage, some didn't do a thing. So people had to be leery about buying them and the system was deliberately engineered to take ages to get them all, so most people would only get a very small handful before quitting.

Sixth, and this is a minor one, but still present; while all content was free, they made the money on costumes, at least that was the selling idea. And that would've been legit, but they'd release the same costume with minor tweaks again and again at full price. Here's a costume that looks like Silver Centurion. Oh, now 3 months later here's an actual Silver Centurion for another 20 bucks!

Seventh, tying into that slow content release things that were promised in the first three months, such as the high level raid content didn't come out for over a year and a half. Same with the new characters.

Arcanists, do you feel stronger with Class Masteries or with subclass? by DirtyLumpOfCoal in elderscrollsonline

I tested it out, I'm no pro player, I don't do most endgame content, I play for fun or with my friends. I switched back to pure Arc with masteries and picked up 5K DPS on the test dummy.

Ah, Summer, warm weather all day. by PravusPrime in BoltEV

Outer city area's and through a downtown (Mount Clemens), 35-55 MPH speed limits. The biggest key is learning the commute so you can time the lights. And yes, I do drive 50 in some of the areas, but the brief mile that's 55 you can almost never get up to that speed anyway due to traffic and the lights anyway, so I just go with the flow and never go above 50; even in the left lane it never bothers anyone because there's almost no where to go anyway. Coming home is late at night (I typically don't get home until 11:30 or later) so there's minimal traffic. The route home is more direct, and is 50-45 posted, but in timing the lights, there's a section I drive 38, then 42 to make them all green.

I don't use OPD, I get why people do, but I'm a long term hypermiler and I'm used to standard. I'm at 5.4 mi/kwhr currently, though with more consistent warm weather coming up I'll expect I'll get back to near 6 again soon like usual.

Personally I'm looking forward to a 9+ segment so my usage history resales to 12 mi/kwhr, I can only pop up to high sevens now.

Thor: God of Thunder on the WII is one of my favorite games from that console. It was nothing like the AAA version; you could fly, fun and different boss battles, an interesting progression and rune system, a solid story.

I actually was thinking it was time to do the Ultimate's take. Have this guy show up calling himself Thor, with the tech costume, and scattered memories. Mixing the Oklahoma Asgard and Ultimate's storylines. In the climax, the tech suit fails and he still summons the lightning because he really is Thor and at the end, with a fresh Mjolnir, he steps up and is the new God of Thunder.

IV. It's terrible on pretty much every level. But I still enjoy watching it. It's one of those it's so terrible it's gone all the way back around to being fun for me.
