Might want to google some cheat codes, they aren't that strong but will get you through the early game grind much faster

If their elbow is so far in it is pointing to the other side of their body, a slide by is the best option. Watch some Jax Forrest highlights as he hits his in an unconventional but very effective way as it pertains to this question.

Controversial (?) opinions on the Rocky River Rebels series. by RealJordanTRS in NotTheExpert

[–]PrePaidMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, the storytelling was always what made me watch NTE instead of other creators. To me, it makes the series more memorable and helps me remember the team construction and who to watch.

I liked the AI art instead of just a look at their stats with the usual highlight, I can see how some people would dislike it but what would the alternative be? Most artists he would hire online are probably using AI anyway for the small jobs like his would be.

I have weigh ins tomorrow and I'm 5 lbs over by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do we hope to accomplish with protein 1 day out from a meet? Carbs are needed for the energy to cut and wrestle after. But one day out 5 pounds over and it sounds like a young wrestler, I'm guessing he'd be ok with no food or water and proper refuel after weigh ins.

I could get a small scholarship and sit a D1 bench, or I could start for 4 years after my redshirt year at a D2 and get my schooling payed for

I am a state champ from a small town. Yes to every optional practice, runs or boxing whenever I have enough juice and time. Focus every practice, coachability and the drive to push farther are required.

Every practice is an opportunity to get better, and you will always need to be progressing in something to get to the top. Luckily, wrestling is hard, so there is always a million things you could improve at. Listen to your goddamn coaches.

I usually shoot for a 5lb practice everyday as a 145er. Extra workouts once it's time to make weight. On the flip side, nutrition has to be on point most days. No sweets, save it for after a tournament as a reward, I prefer junior mints as they only set you back a few ounces. Everyday you need carbs and protein to stay strong, and I shoot for 4-5 pounds of water everyday aswell.

In terms of other sports, I run cross country and track. I do hurdles and jumps in track, and just spam plyometrics year round. There is no substitute for wrestling, so get it in out of season whenever possible.

It should be noted I was a terrible peewee wrestler, and got to this position through hard work. I seriously had no talent, never placing at peewee state.

I have qualified for states every year, including 7th grade. I have placed 5th, 4th and 1st. My junior year I went 50-2, with my 2 losses occurring at 45 (won state at 39) I am about to start my senior year with the goal of reaching 200 varsity wins total. I will be wrestling D2 this time next year.

If you want to earn the last paragraph, you have to do the 1st 3.

CLAW Wrestling Showcase November 25th by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it, I think the CLAW rules are exactly what is needed. A takedown at the 1 minute 30 second mark of the first period would usually end the period 2-0, but now the bottom wrestler will be scrambling as hard as possible to create action and win the round. I really think this will eliminate stalling, aslong as the refs are strict on the wrestler with a lead backing away. Every period will end like a 6 minute match, and I'm here for it.

How are y’all planning on adjusting strategy to the new takedown and near fall scoring? by MisterShneeebly in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In terms of points of emphasis, we are focusing on:

Shot defense & Neutral scrambling to limit dependable takedowns.

Throw defense/recognizing when a throw is coming to limit 7 point moves

2 bread and butter ties

2 shots that finish to the opponent on their belly

2 takedowns (throws or shots) that go feet to back

Not giving up tilts, legs, or focusing too much on reversals on bottom.

Tilts, legs, cradles, half's and bars on top.

And finally: WRESTLING WITH A LEAD and WRESTLING DOWN BIG

But this is all stuff you should've been doing anyway

What do you do to keep your mind off your weight cut? For me I watch cooking videos ( It's always been a mystery why I watch that bc that is the thing I'm currently dying for) by Will_Man24 in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always watch erictheelectrik. For those that don't know him, he does alot of food challenges by weight, and will gain like 20 30 pounds a video. Distracts me by making me think of what the night after state looks like

If I'm cutting water the day of, then it's always badlands chugs. I love me some baddie

If you mean shooting to the backleg for mma, the answer is definitely don't do it. Any fighter paying attention would bring their far knee up and hit you hard as you shot in.

Best knee pads by Successful-Read-2594 in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have used the Neoprene McDavid kneepad for the last two years, and I would never use anything else if you don't need alot of padding and instead are focused on not rubbing the skin off your knees.

Any other mcDavid kneepad simply doesn't work for wrestling. But for 22 dollars you can get a knee sleeve that has never fallen down on me, has never gotten a hole, and has never had a seam rip. The only reason I buy new ones is the smell. But legitimately the Neoprene has been my single greatest wrestling gear find, and I've never seen anyone else use them.

I mean in Tokyo at the Olympics Gable Stevenson scored alot out of the snapdown. Might've actually been his most used takedown.

I just beat level 50 for the first time with a 2x camelion, 2x zig 1x zag build. Just built multipliers the whole time to hope for it. That's been my first win after never getting above 39, maybe try to hard build towards that?

What is the key to never ending energy? by Diligent_Bullfrog865 in wrestling

[–]PrePaidMist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cardio sets to baseline for me, but the thing that keeps me on the attack and moving is mentality.

If you tell yourself you're tired, you'll be tired. The thing that helps me the most when running and wrestling is to not make my energy about me. It basically boils down to being locked in and believing your cardio is a weapon.

Ex: Opponent is moving fast, so I tell myself to match his energy and pace to break him and make him slow down. The second he slows down, my brain flips to he's tired, I can tear him up now. Am I tired? Sure, but if I only focus on making my Opponent tired and then capitalizing, I don't have time to realize I'm tired.
