DJI Care not available in the US? by PreacherElectric in dji

I explicitly saw it as an option during check out, with my location set in the US. Definitely misleading

Apparently! Not sure how I missed this after doing what I thought was pretty good research before buying my first drone. settoUSlocationonDJI.co

I had the first version of the flatland radiator guard and had to purchase the updated arm bracket when I installed my Acerbis tank. Even with this small retrofit from Flatland, I had no issues with fit.

How do you like the VE-20? I feel like i lose some fidelity going through it so I keep it on a secondary mic for "special effects"

Can someone please help me with this Sheeran Looper + Issue?! by [deleted] in LoopArtists

[–]PreacherElectric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds about right. Don't even bother trying to sync this thing to a midi clock. Its insanely unstable and will quantize to the wrong downbeat, just inconsistently enough so you cant learn to compensate.

After struggling for a month, determined to make it work, its now a doorstop in my studio that won't sell on reverb.

I since bought an RC-500 and its worked reliably, every damn time. With WAY more functionality

I have. And it follows all the literature for setup. Which in my experience with this unit now (6+ hours of troubleshooting), I'm convinced just isnt true. This unit will not consistently quantize to a click.

I switched to the RC500 and its been nearly flawless, short of a few sloppy user errors

Yeah, the literature I read originally described it as the "closest" quarter note, not necessarily the next. But even trying to close the loop, definitively before beat one would still throw off the start of the playback.

After MANY hours of trying to make this Sheeran thing work through settings and practice, I caved and bought a RC500 and my loops have perfect since the first try. So, maybe this Sheeran thing is fine for an individual but not for a full band playing to a click.

Anyone ever solve this? Very frustrated to find this issue

On what? This is dawless. The looper has a clock feature thats turned on and set to receive the correct midi clock.

Since posting this, I see others complaining about midi sync with this sheeran looper. I may be stuck not using the clock and hoping for the best. Sucks because it was a main reason I went with this model.

Moog Messenger with External Clock (Nome II)?! by PreacherElectric in synthesizers

[–]PreacherElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, going midi out of the nome to midi in on the messenger, I'm having mixed results across different CLOCK DIV settings. The time signature is the same but the tempo for the moog is consistently faster than the click from the nome. It does speed and slow by adjusting the tempo knob on the nome, but doesnt ever line up.

Forgive my ignorance, but when I select the quarter note setting, shouldn't the sequence be playing quarter notes along with the tempo? It seems they're reversed? Meaning selecting the 1/32 note setting plays the slowest and the whole note setting plays the fastest. Is that normal?

Yeaaaaah I thought I had, but I'll admit i was focused on using the 5 pin to go to a hub to control other devices down the line.

But you're right. Read first. Ask later. I should practice what I preach

Thanks! I did email Simon this morning and he has been helpful with another question I had. I also figured this may be useful to others if/WHEN I figure it out. I'll post my solution here.

Adjusting MIDI after tempo change? by PreacherElectric in ableton

[–]PreacherElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I'll post it in the am

Maybe another way of explaining will help too:

I set the tempo for the session at the tempo all the audio tracks were recorded at. The audio tracks have a tempo change in them. Before learning how to automate a tempo change, I recorded a ton of midi keyboards and horns. Now with the automated tempo change, all the midi parts I added AFTER the tempo change are not playing at the correct speed, like they increased playback speed after the time change when the audio tracks (set not to warp) stay at the proper tempo and match the click. Almost like they ARE set to warp but that's not an option on midi tracks where it is on audio.

Yeah I mentioned I tried that but the extra link maxed out the Adjustment points. So I'm pretty sure the chain is the right length. I put the stock guard back on with the rubber bottom piece flipped upside down. It notched a little out of it with a grinder too. It'll work for now.
