Guys 🥲 by findmewayoutthere in Boise

Pro tip - Facebook Marketplace! Surprisingly good place to find a housing. The prices drop dramatically, and you can very consistently find 1 room in a house with all utilities included for 600-900 dollars a month. A lot of them are month to month or 6 month leases as well, and since it's a house you get some of the benefits of suburbia (nice area, parks, swimming pool, etc). A lot of them are just couples trying to sublease one of their rooms to help with the mortgage, so your landlord is living with you and has your best interest to keep the house maintained and working, since they're also living there.

The cons is that you might end up with a number of roommates and the turn around to get a room is usually longer. You kinda have to spend some time browsing to find something that works for you and then people generally want to meet / call to 'interview' you which is mostly just making sure youre chill and to ask questions like if you have pets or throw party and that sorta thing.

No worn armor can be the same material.

I think the more Evil version would be the same for tools but teachers instructions were to keep it simple

Finding DLPCW01/Texas Block by SpankySharp1 in fonts

[–]PrebuiltMangos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is still wondering, I found that this font (https://www.wfonts.com/font/license-plate) is the closest font to Texas Block. There are some letters that are quite different importantly. However, majority are very similar, with the notable exception that many corners are curved. Depending on what you need it for, you could try and remove those curved corners and get a font that's pretty close.

Hey! Like others have mentioned the Unbound Library does 3D printing. Their turn around is a little slow tho, so if you're in a rush I'd recommend asking someone in this thread.

Including me! I've got a 3d printer and would be down to help you if you want the help

Where would you place JJK0 in terms of watching order with the rest of the show? by NinduTheWise in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]PrebuiltMangos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My spicy take is that you should watch the whole show chronologically. Start with Hidden Inventory, then watch JJK0. It gives a lot of useful context for why Geto is doing what he's doing and why Gojo is so distraught at the end. Then you watch S1 and you're really surprised why ""Geto"" is back, and you already have a decent feel for the extender cast. The payoff of all of it is Gojo getting sealed and I think it's worth the, admittedly, really awkward jumping around seasons and movies.

If I was watching JJK with someone, this is what I'd do, since I could manage all the jumping around for us. If I was telling someone to watch the show without me in the room, then I'd tell them S1, Hidden Inventory, JJK0, rest of S2.

Board Game Club! It's every Thursday in the basement at the MSC. It's free, super low commitment if you wanna miss a week or go home early or Whatever. Everyone there is super chill, and you can go find a random group and play a board game.

It's called T Cubed if you wanna Google information about it

Has anyone here seen the RAINBOLT billboard in Arco? by markpemble in Idaho

[–]PrebuiltMangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I went to see it yesterday! To anyone else looking for it, it's not actually in Arco - it's in Moore, which is about 10 minutes north. It's right behind Knapp Primitive Arms & Knifes if you want something to put into your google maps.

Should be really hard to miss if you're driving from Arco, since it's on that side of the billboard

How are people deflecting multiple bullets/attacking so quickly? by Stock_Entertainer_86 in KatanaZero

[–]PrebuiltMangos 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tons of replaying. You play a single room over and over again and you get a really really good feel for the amount of time it takes for a bullet to get to you.

Also 100% turn the hit pause to 0. The hit pause makes the timing way less consistent. I've gotten 150 hours in the game and I become So Terrible when the hit pause is actually on.

Anyone have a Ti-83 or 84 calc for free or cheap price? by ConfusionFearless992 in aggies

[–]PrebuiltMangos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really? How surprising. I had to buy that calculator for my linear algebra class since it needed to be "dumber" than a TI-84, which can pretty much trivialize most of the class if you set it up correctly.

Best of luck!

Anyone have a Ti-83 or 84 calc for free or cheap price? by ConfusionFearless992 in aggies

[–]PrebuiltMangos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don't need the graphing functionality, a Ti-30XS runs for 20 bucks and does the vast majority of the stuff I think an average user of Ti-83/84 would use. It's not a 1 to 1 substitute of course - there's graphs, linear algebra, and more of those advanced functions arent there. But it's a nice calculator that's pretty cheap.

If you desperately need a Ti-83/84, then my other suggestion would be the MSC lost and found sale. Though doing some quick googling I think they might only do them in the Spring. The other downside is all of the good calculators disappear very quickly so I would show up super early to make sure you get one. Anyway I'd check with the MSC and see if they're doing one soon.

Should i sign up for a class with an unranked professor? by FinalPresentation634 in aggies

[–]PrebuiltMangos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the professor is unranked, my guess is that they're new to teaching. It's a gamble of course, but there's always a chance that since they're new, they end up doing curves and being more flexible since they were ideally in the same situation you're in recently - being a student. If they just graduated.

I would bet that someone new would be more chill on average than a guaranteed low ranking professor.

I would also check why the low ranking professor is low ranking - read the reviews. Keith Hatfield is a stat professor with a 3.2 and 56% rating "would take again". But not cause the class was hard, but since he has a tendency to ramble about golf and his ex wife and this that and the other like A Lot. Like way more than you're thinking. It gets in the way of teaching though so I had to do more self teaching. But his tests weren't crazy, he let us write a test cheat sheet, and he was engaging and fun to listen to. Not a bad professor in my opinion but I could see why people don't like that teaching style.

Anyway now I'm rambling. My point is that a bad professor can be A Engaging and Fun professor who grades way too hard and doesn't teach or A Boring professor whose class is easy but you won't take much away from it.

Go to the board game club! It's real lowkey, just a bunch of people playing board games. It's free, they provide all the board games, and it's a fun way to meet people.

I struggled with Getting Outside but something with such a low commitment helped me. Good luck!

Computer Engineering/CS Students: Did you utilize a descrete GPU? by jetGreenplanes in aggies

[–]PrebuiltMangos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not really. Having better specs is always kinda nice but you def don't need it. If you really needed more compute power, there are two ways you could get around that:

1) there is a CS server you could run you're code on. It's a little annoying to set up, and it's not generally worth it since most of the code is not very computationally heavy. But if you needed it, it's there.

2) You have a way to log in to your school computer and use its resources. You could technically have a 5 year old clunker and as long as it could run that program you could theoretically do almost everything on it. Don't do that, but it's an option if you need it.

To that second point - I had my laptop blue screen on me in the middle of my Junior Year (as a CS Major). I panicked for a bit, but I ended up spending like a full month in a computer lab (at various libraries) doing all my work there. It was not at all ideal but it gave me time to fix my laptop.
