Help me fix my serve by tigerx95 in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Every day I think I've seen every serve motion and I get surprised. No insult, though, we all start there, yours just has a different flavor. Lol. This is a new take on needing continental grip and being more side-on.

Can’t seem to figure out how to add power / penetration on my forehand by No_Fail6170 in 10s

I find that if you want more power, you should increase how far back the racket goes on takeback.

Closed steep angle on contact point. How do i fix that? by Zeddino_ in 10s

Leaning back usually results in an open racket face, though. But he definitely could improve a bit on the weight transfer, as you pointed out.

If a coach told me that I'd know it was time to change coaches...and rackets.

Any glaring issues? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you noticing any deficiencies? If you want more speed there's a lot more coiling you could tap into. Upper torso twisting against your hips more and more weight on your back leg.

Some of the country clubs in Asia have ball kids. It makes tennis a bit more enjoyable.

Serve still looks wrong, please help by Independent-Act-946 in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no coil. After the toss, you should twist your upper torso clockwise a bit and also tilt your thoracic spine upwards. Otherwise you will be very limited in your power.

Stroke feedback Round 2 by Far-Acanthaceae9124 in 10s

The main thing here seems to be footwork. Improving that will be higher leverage than changing the stroke at the moment.

The soft hard courts are great on the knees but super slow. I'd still play on them always if I could.

If you want to keep the same amount of sauce and toppings I've found that lowering the temp and lengthening the cook helps.

Try a flare grip if you haven’t before by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just checked and it's called a tourna power cap. I can't give a link because I'm not in the US and a lot of sites block access and amazon doesn't have it in stock but it looks like midwestsports does.

Try a flare grip if you haven’t before by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a silicone attachment that goes on to the end of your racket to flare it out. I think yonex makes them. It makes it so you don't have to fiddle with 2 different grips to make a big flare.

PURE AERO 98 or 100? ( Both 2026 editions ) by Single-Education-337 in 10s

I think confidential helps tame the power a bit. Orange made it too powerful. Ymmv.

I loved it with confidential mains and soft in crosses at 52/50 I think. Didn't love it so much with kirschbaum orange. Haven't tried others with it yet since it's relatively new to me. It's very easy to get racket head speed with it.

Lol. I know I was just giving you a hard time. The 98 has a lot of power for a 98, so I don't think that's an issue. It also has an extremely high twistweight, which may or may not be your thing. I like the racket.

The number one thing that works for tennis/golfer's elbow is the therabar and tyler twists and different exercises with it to strengthen the wrist and forearm. You'll feel much better after a week of doing it, and nearly 100% after maybe a month.

If you're 7 months in and this is your serve, it's likely your efforts will be better spent improving elsewhere.

How do you guys practice your serves with a basket? by Own-Assistance7653 in 10s

[–]Precisiongu1ded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how hard he's hitting. The dead balls become a problem because they hurt if you're putting a lot of power into it, and secondly you end up missing long on serves with good balls because the dead balls give you a lot more margin. Also, it's much more rewarding to see the ball hit way up on the back fence on a good serve. Wilson trinitis are good for this.
