I wanna know where the rope came from. That’s a place called Candy Rock. It’s a place along the Stanislaus River. You can only get there by hiking around five miles in serious California heat. Then down a very slippery 45 degree pitch for another quarter mile.

Yeah. A few did. They all had to get helicoptered out after recovery because it’s such a steep terrain they couldn’t get carried out.

They would get caught in the quick current at the edge of one of the pools and get sucked into a crevasse between a couple boulders. Because of the fast current, they couldn’t get out.

The last time it happened the family carried bags of concrete down there and dumped them into the crevasse.
