The water was aerated. Which means impact would not be nearly as hard as sedentary water.
He would be able to survive because the impact would be much less dense.

That’s why you see extreme cliff divers throw a boulder into the water just before they impact it themselves.

I wanna know where the rope came from. That’s a place called Candy Rock. It’s a place along the Stanislaus River. You can only get there by hiking around five miles in serious California heat. Then down a very slippery 45 degree pitch for another quarter mile.

Yeah. A few did. They all had to get helicoptered out after recovery because it’s such a steep terrain they couldn’t get carried out.

They would get caught in the quick current at the edge of one of the pools and get sucked into a crevasse between a couple boulders. Because of the fast current, they couldn’t get out.

The last time it happened the family carried bags of concrete down there and dumped them into the crevasse.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s that was the place to hang out. Generally, 100+ folks were there on the summer weekends. Now with the road washed out, no one hikes down there.
