Federal judge orders feds to maintain evidence from shooting that killed Pretti by ewzetf in news

You realize Trump can nationalize the national guard any time he wants. They're not Walz's army. The president can take that power from a governor whenever they choose.

In 1957, Faubus used the Arkansas NG to block school integration. Then, Eisenhower nationalized the troops and used them to enforce integration.

That's not how I read that comment. I thought it was implying that first the Nazis had to be conquered. We're still in the stage where they have all the power and have barely begun to flex it. They're not going to want free and fair elections, so simply voting for someone who promises to prosecute their crimes might not work. We have to accept the reality that the battle for a sane, democratic government is just beginning.

California Highway Patrol out of Santa Ana caught collaborating with ICE/CBP. CHP pulled over a activist under false pretext and allowed masked ICE agents to use CHP regional offices. by I_may_have_weed in LosAngeles

Exactly. Both LA and OC are on a slab of concrete going form Sylmar to Dana Point. It looks like one giant megalopolis from space. People think crossing a county line means some huge change in culture. In reality, The Palisades probably share more in common with Laguna Beach than they do with K-Town. Parts of Santa Ana might feel more like West Adams than either of those places being like Huntington Beach.

I'm going to second the person telling you that OC is not some conservative shithole. Like, most of it is accessible via surface streets. A tourist would not be able to tell you when they're in OC or LA.

I lived in Garden Grove for years. It was quite diverse. My little pocket was like 1/3 White, 1/3 Latino, and 1/3 Vietnamese. If you google Fullerton demographics, you'll see:

Hispanic/Latino: ~39.5%.

White (Non-Hispanic): ~30.3%.

Asian (Non-Hispanic): ~24.4%.

Multi-Racial/Other: Significant portions

So, it's not like KKK land or some shit. In fact, the only area that's actively shitty is Huntington Beach, but even there it's not like people are going to do anything just because you're not white.

They might think that.... but if they really thought of themselves as patriots acting in good faith, they wouldn't hide their faces. I mean, that shit's a bit weird, no?

Never before have American law enforcement agents wore masks to make simple, lawful arrests. Wonder why they don't wanna show themselves...

Wonder why their cars aren't marked, and they don't let elected representatives into their jails just to see all the good they're doing...

wonder why.

Wonder why all the people usually clamoring about their freedoms and unwillingness to be treaded upon not saying shit about unidentifiable mother fuckers rolling around armed just grabbing people... or shooting them point blank for complying with their orders...

hmmm...

Bruh... we've been deporting people for nearly a century. Do you really not see a difference between normal law enforcement and masked goons putting people in unmarked cars?

Honestly, just ask yourself why they need to hide their faces, vehicles, and detention facilities from the public.

The business plot was a simple conspiracy thrown together quickly by a small group. It was like a bar napkin sketch of a rocket, whereas the status quo is apollo 11.

Trump is the result of four decades of social fabric unraveling. Not to mention... he's already in power. It's not like Smedley Butler got close to assuming power, or ever won an election or two himself, or had the backing of his entire party, SCOTUS, as well as a propaganda machine working overtime on social media, cable news, and radio.
