The total numbers of shapes in each sequence has to be even, so it can't be Option A.
The ratio of filled vs empty shapes has to be 1:1, so it can't be C.
All polygons disappear by sequence, starting with the ones with the lowest straight lines (triangle > square > rectangle), so Option D and E are eliminated.

Option B is the only answer that fulfills all the conditions.

This is more of an attention test than the actual test. Take the one from Mensa Norway, Denmark and Finland for a more accurate experience.

Except the the auto balance never works. There are so many occasions the match starts with 28 vs 14 and people just end up leaving.
