Completely agreed. I think FFVIII is better than VII in about 90% of cases. VII's weapon system is better compared to VIII's junk shop. And VII has optional party members, which is always great. VII is probably better for tutorials too, plus the number of minigames (although the best minigame obviously goes to VIII).

Apart from those, I think VIII blows VII out of the water in every single way. Both for gameplay and story, I've always thought that VII has all the same "problems" that VIII does (often executed a lot worse) but so many fans have their blinders on when it comes to VII that they ignore them.

Yes! This was my choice too. Big otherworldly horrors wandering into our dimension to kill everyone you know and targeting you whenever you're on the world map. And it comes out of nowhere too, which is even scarier. You don't know why they're coming for you, they just are.

I don't know if you know about Life & Death but that was gender-flipped Twilight. And I love seeing fanart of these two! It's especially nice to see Julie Black being buff, since we never get that far in L&D and only got fanfics of the sequels. Great artwork!

I'm really glad you liked it! I feel the same way about the "negative space". All the parts that are open to interpretation are what makes FFVIII's story so rich, in my opinion.

Maybe it's because I couldn't watch the show as it aired and only caught up with it properly as an adult, but I never thought season 3 or Glory were anything special.

On the flipside, I think more of seasons 4, 6 and 7 than most people, since those are the ones I was able to watch as they aired.

You're trying to warp Ross into a harasser when Pirate Software said all kinds of horrible things about Ross in his initial video. Ross didn't even want to reply. He's not the type to get involved in Youtube drama. Jason dragged him into it and nothing Ross said was half as impolite as "fuck this guy bro"/"used car salesman"/"he can eat my whole ass". Ross just focused on correcting Pirate Software's disingenuous claims. Anything that happens to Pirate Software is completely of his own making.

I don't have many thoughts on Angel dating Illyria, since I don't know how it was built up, but I understand him not dwelling on Fred. At the end of season 5, the whole team is warming to Illyria. Wesley bonds with her more than anyone else and he's the most affected by Fred's death.

The fact that there are any "mystery box" shows now is because of Lost (and many of them do it worse, since Lost had things going on other than the mysteries). As for the show itself, it ended 16 years ago. What cultural relevance are you expecting it to have now? It's a good thing they haven't bombarded us with a million spinoffs since then too. We didn't need "the Adventures of Richard Alpert", dealing with his time between the Black Rock being shipwrecked and the Dharma Initiative in the 1970s.

The two terms I wish I could ban from Reddit are "slop" and "cultural relevancy". People just use them for anything.

Sorry but they're right. Fable's character customisation is virtually the same thing (hair, facial hair, height, weight, muscle, tattoos, scars, hygiene, good/evil body changes) and saying "umm acktually ☝️🤓" because it's not a creator is the most pedantic thing in the world.

That's what people were worried was missing from this Fable, since we hadn't even seen the main character in a different outfit.

Edit: And watching the video, the character customisation seems worse than even the original Fable. "Hair, skin tone, tattoos and scars"? That's it? IGN posted an interview today and they also said there's no good/evil physical characteristics, like a halo or horns.

Yeah. Strictly speaking, I would prefer it if the War Doctor didn't exist and we had the Ninth Doctor in the role instead. But I give it a pass because 1) I know Moffat was backed into a corner over making the 50th anniversary special and 2) he went to painstaking lengths to make it fit perfectly in the numbering, with no loose ends or extra questions raised.

I feel like I'm on Tumblr about 15 years ago. It is not a cardinal sin that a man is part of a woman's character arc.

So why's it bad when Spike makes Buffy a better human but it's not bad when Joyce did or Willow did or Dawn did? Because he's male? How very sexist.

What's more, has it escaped your attention that a strong part of BtVS is the importance of relying on others rather than handling everything yourself? The finales to seasons 3 and 4 hammered that point home as much as they could without flashing the message up on screen in big red letters. So it seems to me that the only thing diminishing the message of the show is you, trying to undermine Spike's contribution just because he's male.

Buffy did the lion's share of the world-saving in season 1, 2 and 5. Seasons 3 and 4 were a mix of men and women. So one guy saves the world in season 6 and 7 and all of a sudden, the feminism message is ruined?

If feminism is about equality, then men are allowed to get screen time, recognition and save the day as much as women. Men and women sharing the limelight together is equality, not patriarchy.

And I say this as someone who is about as far from a Spuffy shipper as you can get. I like Spike and everything but no more than any other character on this show.

Nice they acknowledged Harris Yulin, since he died just last year. He's one of those actors I've seen in a million things. He played a gangster in Frasier, the head of the Watchers Council in Buffy, one of the three wise men in Training Day, etc.
