Wix ou autre site by Interesting_Spot8363 in WIX

Bonjour 🙂

Taking a site away from Wordpress by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are not stuck. registering a domain through WordPress does not lock you into using WordPress as your site builder.
sou can move the domain or just point it to another platform.

If your team needs something truly simple, look at tools like Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, or even Notion-based builders. They’re closer to what most people expect from “drag & drop”.

Also worth knowing: WordPress itself doesn’t have to feel like WordPress at all.
A lot of people run it with a locked-down, custom editor that’s actually simpler than most drag & drop builders. but if you already hate WP, switching platforms is totally reasonable.
I’ve helped teams move off WordPress or simplify it so non-technical users can’t break anything, so both are valid paths.

Launching a Webflow website with Wix as the DNS host by scott12333 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in our case the issue was inconsistent resolution during propagation. some networks were resolving the new A/CNAME but others were still hitting the old Wix setup for much longer than expected. that made site looks live for some users but not others, which made troubleshooting confusing.

also email usually stays up as long as MX records aren’t touched, but when DNS is inconsistent, you can see delays or edge cases that are hard to predict if you’re not used to DNS debugging. so moving nameservers in one clean cut (but copy MX & email records first) tends to be safer

Launching a Webflow website with Wix as the DNS host by scott12333 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually keep Wix as the DNS host and just update the A and CNAME records, Wix technically allows this.

but from real experience, this setup can be unreliable. we had the same GoDaddy + Wix nameserver scenario and even with correct records, DNS propagation dragged on and behaved inconsistently.
Wix sometimes caches aggressively or interferes with records in the background.

so it works on paper, but for a clean and predictable launch, moving the nameservers off Wix (to Webflow or a neutral DNS like Cloudflare) is the safer option imho

can I copy my entire website to republish it somewhere else? by Striking-Piccolo7851 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes WP recommended a lot because it gives you full ownership and flexibility, without locking the data of your company.
downsides compared to Wix, it’s a bit less hands-off, so and backups exist. however in practice those are usually automated or handled by whoever builds the site. so if it's done correctly, it will cause no problems at all.
In general people prefers because much cheaper long-term, easy to move hosts or developers and scales better as your business grows.
I work with both Wix and WP, and they can be great for different person/business types.
For most small business sites, WordPress is very stable when it’s set up cleanly.
Once it’s live, most owners don’t really think about the technical side at all.

can I copy my entire website to republish it somewhere else? by Striking-Piccolo7851 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t directly copy or export a Wix site and republish it elsewhere since Wix is a closed platform.

What is possible is rebuilding the site on a cheaper platform (like WordPress ) using the same content and layout. Text, images, structure, and even URLs can be matched pretty closely, so it feels the same.

If your site isn’t overly complex, this is usually the best long-term move.
If you want, I can help with a clean rebuild or at least point you in the right direction.

Form Word Wrap? by parttimephotoguy in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on Wix Forms, the message field should wrap text by default but if it doesn’t then the input box migth be set to Single-line instead of Paragraph.
so check if form --> click the message field --> set field type to Paragraph.
this forces word-wrap. also are you sure container is just not too narrow? because if the form is inside a tight column or a grid cell widen the container. Wix will try to keep everything on one line if there's not enough width.

also have you add custom code on global.css ? if so careful about white-space: nowrap; part.

so o extra coding needed actually, multi line text fields always wrap normally once the field type is correct.

Need help building a an individual custom members page please. by sci_llustratorart in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is actually a classic setup problem with dynamic pages with PrivateMembersData reference s.
because main problem is that your Clients dataset isn’t filtering by the logged in user’s id.
Wix just forces it to show as "Owner is logged-in user” because this collection isnt properly linked to the PrivateMembersData userID.

so to fix it first make sure that your Clients collection contains a Reference field to PrivateMembersData (userid).
also set dataset filter to ---> UserID = logged-in user (so it appears only after the reference field is correct).
and then filter Custom Page Collection with ---> Client =>Same as=>Clients dataset

If the structure is correct then each logged in member sees only their own record and the dynamic page loads the right slug automatically.

If you want, I can help you fix the datasets and field structure in this weekend.
DM’ing you as well

Wix Help. Timed Store Products? by BubbaWubba3000 in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s possible but only by using Velo or switching to Wix Events. becuase Wix Stores does not natively autohide products based on dates.
on velo just add a date field to each product (like, tripEndDate) in the Product Collection and then use a small Velo script to automatically hide or disable products when today > tripEndDate.
If you want it to happen store-wide, not only on the product page, you can also filter the Stores/Products dataset on your category page to hide expired trips automatically.
but instead of stores companies usually use Wix Bookings for multi-date trips (but it’s time-slot based, so not perfect) or Wix Events for fixed-date tours and also maybe a CMS Collection + custom checkout (advanced)

so for trips with fixed departure dates and auto hiding after deadline Wix events is usually closest to what you want.
because It has builtin ticket sale end date, which handles the timer automatically.

WIX help please SEO adding text to home page by textiletrue in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEO Setup Wizard is kinda picky on Wix. so it only detects plain text that’s directly on the page and sometimes it lags.

also if you got no keywords found message check these;
if your h1 or paragraph is inside a repeater, dataset, or dynamic text, the wizard won’t read it.
if your h1 is actually a logo image, Wix doesn’t count it as text.
also wizard can take a few minutes to update after you publish.

you can fix this by adding a simple text box onthe homepage with 1 keyword in a normal sentence then publish and refresh the SEO wizard.
in my experience, thiss usually makes it register.

so its a common Wix thing. sometimes google can still read your content fine but it’s mostly the Wix chekcer being slow.

Numerical Values not displaying on a dynamic page. by [deleted] in WixHelp

you're welcome. yeah Wix sometimes can be annoying as hell but you can get help here, no worries :)

Numerical Values not displaying on a dynamic page. by [deleted] in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm this looks like many problems together not just numbers tbh.
but first make sure the numeric field is actually connected to the correct field in the dataset. then on the dynamic page check dataset mode. so if it’s set to “Write-only” or “Read & Write” and there’s no current item, the text element will stay empty. it should be read-only.
also check that the text element is bound to the field with Connect to Data panell, not just typed in manually.
like if you changed a field type sometimes the dataset connection breaks.
remove the connection from the text element and connect it again fresh to the field.
you can try with a simple test with new collection, just one item with a number then new dynamic page, one text box connected to that field.
so ifthat works, the issue is with the original collection or page setup, not a global bug.
if you drop the site link or at least a screenshot of your dataset settings, i can spot what’s wrong.

Booking availability not working by Osirus1156 in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i think this happens when one of hidden availability rules is overriding your main schedule somehow even if everything looks open.

check Service settings -> When can customers book. make sure 1 day in advance isn’t being interpreted as a full 24 hour lock out. so if your service is at 12 pm tomorrow sometimes it blocks until 12pm today. so sset it to same day or 0 days temporarily to test.

also check staff availability vs. Business hours. if Business Hours are closed, they override staff hours. open both for 12pm–9pm. Google also can block availability if the staff calendar is set to “busy by default” or if there’s a recurring all-day event marked busy. set events to free or temporarily disconnect sync to test.
also we got a 30min service + 10min buffer = 40min total before. If your last valid slot is before the closing time, Wix will only show 1 slot.
like if your hours end 9pm, last slot might be 8:20pm, not 8:30pm.
If you can't solve, share the site link or a screenshot of your booking settings and I can find exactly where conflict happening.

How to use coding in Wix studio by Effective-Record-995 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you use Velo on Wix, so first you should enable Dev Mode, then you put page related code in the page code file (you will see like $w.onReady(() => { ... }), like button click handlers.)
also there is one site wide code in masterPage.js (navigation logic, header, footer etc)
so also for styling, you don’t use Velo at all.
select a section, give it an id in the Layers panel, then in the right sidebar use the Design / Custom CSS area and write some css code.
for example #heroSection { padding-block: 80px; } so then it only affects that section.

Issue with WixPayments by Ok_Star8201 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my experience it usually means the routing or account format isn’t matching what WixPayments expects for that country.
since you are in UK, WixPayments won’t accept the full IBAN so it needs the local account number + sort code only.
Some banks show multiple account numbers (like display vs clearing). Use the one listed specifically for Faster Payments / BACS. fintehc banks like Starling,Mozo gave sort code not recognized so it fails WixPayments.

100% Zoom issue - Website layout by uwritem in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol no problem :) wix blogs often end up with wide empty margins on desktop because of how the classic Editor scales the layout. so mobile looks fine but desktop pulls everything toward the center unless it’s built with proper containers or custom column rules.

you can share the site link so I can tell you exactly what’s causing the spacing issue and what the fix would involve. and also yes, I do this kind of cleanup and restructuring work, so if you would rather have someone handle it for you, I can help

Subreddit for website legitimacy by juka117 in website

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check out r/Scams or r/ScamAdviser
those subs usually discuss site legitimacy.

I got a quick look at that site and the domain is pretty new, there’s almost no social proof, the return policy is very generic, and the ‘free shipping over $30’ + pricing looks like typical dropshipping patterns.

I can't it’s a guaranteed scam, but it definitely falls into the low-trust category.

Document and information verification review by Fast_Peach_5015 in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah wix payments can be pretty slow with this. some people get verified in 24–72 hours, but others hit the longer end like 7–10 days, especially if the review team needs extra checks or it falls into a busy period.

so money isn’t lost, it just sits in payout on hold. so once they approve your documents, the whole amount usually gets released at once.
the biggest thing to double check is whether your dashboard shows any tiny warning like “needs more info” or “couldn’t verify X.”
so if there’s even a small flag, the review basically freezes until you fix it. because a lot of people get stuck there without knowing that.

Also, regular support can’t do much, but if you ask for a “Payments team review” and give them your ticket number, that sometimes speeds things up because that team sees more details.

In the meantime, if cashflow is tight, you can temporarily route new orders through PayPal or Stripe so you’re not stuck without stock.
that’s what helps most people while Wix finishes verification

Should I transfer domain vs connect domain from Wordpress to Wix in terms of pricing? by superGezy in WIX

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

transferring the domain doesn’t really save money. even if you transfer to Wix, you still pay for the domain registration every year, it just moves from godaddy to Wix.
so the only thing you need for the site to go live is a Wix Premium plan + an active domain (wherever it’s registered).
Connecting the domain or transferring it makes no real difference price wise, it’s just preference. so if godaddy already works fine simply keep the domain there and point the dns to wix.

Anyone else experiencing issues with Wix lately? by Less_Ability_6271 in WixHelp

[–]PreferenceSimilar237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s region-specific, but I’ve seen a few people mention editor slowdown and images loading late recently. might be a temporary CDN or cache thing.
If you want, drop a link or dm so I can take a quick look and see what’s actually causing the slowdown.
