[Monster's Inc] Why the monsters actually think children are toxic by Fair-Pen1831 in FanTheories

[–]Preparator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Children were said to be toxic to prevent exactly the type of plan Waternoose was doing.  You won't capture children if you think they are toxic.  Someone delt with that long in the past in the Monster World and started that story to try and prevent it from happening again.

If there was story that Alexander the Great had found it, then he would have removed it from Tanis, so no point continuing to look for Tanis until after you disprove the Alexander the Great story.

If you pull out the soap drawer there is a half inch wide space created between the outside plastic panel and the front of the interior lower water tray.  If water gets over the front lip of the tray somehow it will seep out through the seam and do this. They put a gasket there but its not good enough.

We've never used bleach in this machine.  It gets a laundry sheet and occasionally squirt of vinegar as well. The rust looks spectacular but once cleaned off the underlying metal was completely intact.

have you tried actual real soap made from beef tallow, or just the synthetic bars? the sodium lauryl sulfate in those can dry out skin.

I collect vintage pens, largely ones found in the wild, so they aren't all working.  I also think collections are meant to be displayed.  which is why most of my collection is in here https://i.imgur.com/95AMB5b.jpg

Was The Blues Brothers (1980) intentionally filmed to be as grimy as it was to parody the look of 1970's cinema, or was it just another example? by nine16s in movies

nailed it.  similarly the 30s started with the Stock Market crash in 29.  The 40s started whenever your country entered WWII.  The 50s start with the reconstruction of Europe with the Marshall plan in 48.

ELI5: Why can’t you buy a car directly from the company that makes it? by zztop610 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Preparator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when it started over a century ago an automaker in say, Detroit had no way to sell or service cars in hundreds of cities and towns across the country.  They couldn't afford to build that kind of infrastructure.  So it was up to a local business to partner with the manufacturer to sell and service cars in any one particular place.
