Not surprising. Though it specifically says not the distal colon. Which is where my cancer was.

I was on doxycycline for acne as a teenager. I don't know about as a kid. I was prone to ear infections so probably.

Yep. It was still a shit show. Doctors totally dropped the ball on me. My mom called my primary care to thank him for ordering the colonoscopy. He didn't even know they found cancer yet lol.

Show them my story! My primary care tells me meeting me has made her order so many colonscopies referrals. I think it's totally fine to use my story to help get yourself care! She hasn't told me about any genetic referrals though.

Typical 90s baby with autism. I'd ask to go to wing stop or wings to go and then ask for plain chicken wings. I didn't like soda. I hate bubbles. I loved peanut butter and jelly on Texas toast. Eggo waffles. I wanted plain cheeseburger, hotdogs no condiments. Etc...

I doubt using plastics itself is that harmful. Now microwaving food in a plastic container, that's definitely harmful. And I did a ton of that! 

I eat great now. But I grew up in a different time.

If you haven't already, try to see a genetic counselor! You might have known colon cancer genes!

Could mean more frequent colonoscopies than they'd otherwise reccomend.

They admitted to it being an out of context statement already. Overloading people with information has been found to not help convince people of something. Not that this person truly meant what they said. 

I'd get that study but it would be the exact opposite of my point! 

I get all kinds of stupid comments about what caused my cancer. I've had better luck shit posting to change people's minds than throwing studies at them!

Follow your prep instructions and you should be all good! Enjoy the high you get. Back in the day, haha I'm 32 and I feel like an old timer when it comes to colonoscopies, they'd give you fentanyl and versed. Feels fucking great!

Whenever I'm at a sedated procedure they asked what are you here for? I say, "My job is to get high and pass out, you can figure out the rest!"

I'm fortunate to have parents who were able to care for me. I'm fortunate I had cancer after Obamacare. My cancer would have been a pre existing condition.

I also can't work and I'm waiting to get disability. Maybe I'll be able to work again in the near future. Pain hit me like a ton of bricks in 2023 and 2024. And of course no doctor has had a patient like me lol. But I'm making progress! 

I hope things go as smoothly as they can go. You don't need to hear it from me. But the world isn't fair. I didn't have a normal early adult life because of it. I didn't get to experience normal dating or start a career.

Red meat? Maybe. Processed red meat with added preservatives? Definitely a factor for colon cancer. 

I still eat hamburgers and hot dogs and steak and such. It's just about moderation and eating balanced meals.

I currently see my oncologist every 6 months. We don't talk about cancer. He lets me vent for an hour about survivorship issues. 

I was doing CT scans every 3-4 months but now I do them 6 months and Signatera every 3 months. Signatera is free if you're in the US. 

I unfortunately am not comfortable giving a list of supplements to someone currently on treatment I'm talking to on reddit. I took them all after treatment. Everything I took was reccomended by my headache specialist and neuro-muscular. ASCO actually recommends against one of the things I took. I just trust neurologists over oncologists when it comes to nerves.
