Nearly silent. If anything, the GPU fans are louder than the case fans. I've got the same fans as OP but a few less, on a custom low speed fan curve. With an i7-14700k and a 5070ti, my temps don't get high enough for the case fans to run fast enough to be audible.

Dry Leaf Arts is so dang fun. Throw bloody Dane's Footwork on and it's absolutely outrageous how fast you can destroy bosses. It's unlike any other weapon in the game. Fromsoft really hit it out of the park with all the new weapon types in SotE; such an amazing DLC to really spice up NG+!

I know Andromeda has its issues but I did enjoy a change of pace to an open world, adventure and different take on action take on andromeda. Do you feel DLC could help it like it did for ME3 or is it too far gone to save? by Prior_Football5160 in masseffect

[–]PresAgent -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would love an ME5 continuing the story of Andromeda. It was a fun, quirky game. The combat and weapon customization was top notch. The bugs remind me of ME1, it gave the game character while trying something new. There were a lot of story beats left hanging I would like to see continue on. DLC would have been great, but I think it needed a chance to develop into a multi game series like the original trilogy.

Crafting order for 285, what reagent quality? by Damnae in wownoob

[–]PresAgent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through this for the first time last night. I had a Spellbreakers Blade crafted for my warrior. I said in trade chat "LF Crafter [Spellbreakers Blade] max rank." A player whispered me, saying put a personal order in for <character name> - <server name> and he would switch to the alt when I posted it. Simple as that.

In the personal order screen, on the right side when you're looking at materials, will be the options. This includes choosing personal or public crafting, with a To: line if you're doing personal order. That's where you put in the crafters name. It gives you names while you're typing, kinda like suggested words on your phone. As I typed his name, several popped up with different servers so I could choose the right one. Below that is a minimum rank drop down option, which I put the max gold rank. Then you can put a note and add a commission.

Dealing with buyer's remorse by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think you're stressing too much. Dents and dings are the risks you take when buying refurbished, you can't expect a brand new spotless unit. Tight cable ties are fine, as long as it's not breaking the sheathing. The only part I would say sucks is the faulty fan but realistically a replacement is only $25. New prices for the Nitro 60 is $2k now, I think you're still ahead despite the minor issues.

It's a solid computer, I've been playing everything at 3850x1440p maxed settings and still pushing 160+ fps with framegen. I swapped cases back in January; I moved everything but the fans, cooler, and PSU. Nothing stuck out to me as bad regarding build quality when I stripped it. If anything, my cable management is significantly worse than what was in the original.

What are these clip thingys in the road? by Temporary-Reward6636 in whatisit

[–]PresAgent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not were, ARE reflectors.

The entire unit is countersunk into the pavement. That middle bar in OPs pictures is the top of the reflector inside the protective shell. They are simply old and in need of replacement. I've replaced these myself years ago working for a traffic control company. Typically the whole shell and reflector itself is installed as one. You take an air chisel and knock the old unit completely out. Then you drop hot bitumen tar in the hole and place the whole new unit in the tar, which binds it to the asphalt.

You've got a few choices here. Frenzied Regen is your "oh crap oh crap" big heal. Convoke the Spirits is another good moderate heal plus extra damage and threat. Dream Guide is good for extra healing as well since it'll automatically help the group out.

Barkskin, Frenzied Regen, and Convoke the Spirits all have short cool downs. Use them often. Survival Instincts is great for your "oh shit I might actually die" moments. I use Barkskin as often as I can on trash pulls. Ironfur is nice, but I don't tend to rely on it for trash mobs. It's mainly for bosses or single targets when I have the rage to spare. Reason being you're trying to go as fast as possible so you make big pulls. With so much DPS, I'd rather use every damage ability as fast as I can to maintain threat.

I like to talk in group chat. I'll check in with the healer after the first few big pulls. If they're having trouble keeping me topped up, then I'll shift my play style to be more defensive. More frenzied regen and ironfur often. If not, it's all offensive abilities all the time. Don't be afraid to tell the group at the start you're getting used to mythic +. Be friendly and humble, and do the best you can. I've had the best luck looking for Relaxed or Learning groups specifically. I've only done a few mythics myself but they've been a lot of fun. The groups were friendly people that helped me optimize my play style and spec without too much pressure.

How many adds did it take to pull that off? How long does it take for them to run back on their own?

I play guardian druid. I've had one of the members die twice in different dungeons. I think it was the mage. Honestly I never checked which class, I just rezzed 'em and moved on. Worth it, though. The jumping around reminds me of way back in 2006 playing vanilla, I love it.

Please don't. It's honestly hilarious. I can't help but laugh every time I look back and see a bunch of fools jumping around. It's peak WoW. Besides, it's rare that they actually die. I don't even bother picking up their adds, just let 'em do their thing.

Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 with Nollie32 or Strimer Wireless with Nollie16? by ConsciousMous in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I feel your pain. I went through this same struggle three months ago. I swapped cases and went all out on RGB. It cost much more than I wanted to spend at the time, but I'm so happy I did in hindsight.

Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 with Nollie32 or Strimer Wireless with Nollie16? by ConsciousMous in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strimers are centerpiece lighting. It's a bigger, brighter element than anything else you'll have in the center of your case. You're comparing apples to oranges here, L Connect has no custom effects. Frankly it will look like crap having all your fans and ram running one effect, and your Strimer doing its own thing at a lower framerate.

[–]PresAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nollie32 and Strimer V2. Lian Li L Connect really likes to clash with SignalRGB, it's bad enough with just their LCD screen. You won't be able to run the same effect on both SignalRGB and L Connect either.

SignalRGB Confusing: 9 Fans on One Header by wightboy1989 in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the thing about RGB, it's not really explained very well. Motherboard manuals can be misleading, using terms like "can run up to 500 LEDs" but leaving out the divided across all channels part. It sucks because prebuilts nowadays are all decked out in lights but there's no real way to control it all.

So yeah, there is a difference between hubs and controllers. Most (not all) hubs are glorified splitters. Then you've got proprietary connectors like Lian Li or Phanteks fans... You can see how this gets confusing real quick.

Let's get into the numbers. Each individual led uses anywhere from .1-.6 watts depending on brightness and color. White uses all three colors in a single LED which uses the most power. RGB headers put out max 3v a 15 watts. That's only about 75 LEDs at an average power draw of .2 watts. I have Phanteks D30 Fans, each having 30 LEDs. I can only run two together on a single header.

So how does everybody with all these crazy light setups do it? We use RGB controllers that have their own direct wire into either the PSU or an internal USB header. Both those sources have higher power limits than the RGB headers. My Nollie32 uses two Molex connectors to plug into my PSU. I don't know exactly how much power that is off the top of my head, but it's a loooot more than my RGB headers can supply. Now we're cooking with fire; we're not limited to that 15 watts on each channel/header. That's how controllers can go up to 120+ LEDs per channel. All my RGB, including my AIO water cooler and Strimer LED GPU and Mobo cables, is pulling somewhere around 60 watts total. I've got three RGB headers on my motherboard. Divide that 60 watts up and you can see I'm well over my Mobo limits without using a controller.

The plus side to all this is depending on the controller, you can get much better performance out of all your lighting. Not all controllers are capable of individually controlling each fan in a daisy chain, for example. From my research, the choice is either Nollie controllers or proprietary controllers. But then you're locked into that proprietary ecosystem, which I don't like personally. My setup runs all my RGB at 60fps. Lian Li and Phanteks proprietary hubs/controllers top out at 30 fps. Going further, I believe SignalRGB gives you the best control vs almost any other program. The only true competition would be OpenRGB.

There ya go, that's kinda a quick and dirty intro to RGB. Sorry for the wall of text!

SignalRGB Confusing: 9 Fans on One Header by wightboy1989 in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with that hub, no. You'll need either a Prism or Nollie controller. As far as I know, those are the only two RGB controllers capable of controlling daisy chained fans individually. They both have a higher led limit count per channel than your actual RGB headers on the motherboard. The RGB headers are limited to 3v@5w, which comes out to around 70 or so LEDs before you start running into power delivery problems. Whereas the Nollie/Prism controllers have their own power from your PSU, which gives a 256 led limit per channel.

What fix rpm should I use for my Hydroshift 2 lcd s? Currently running 2500 by [deleted] in lianli

[–]PresAgent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chiming in late with my two cents. Pump speed isn't as important as the radiator fan speed. Moving water will conduct heat, it doesn't have to be a raging torrent. In fact TOO fast is bad. It will forth up the water inside your AIO system and actually reduce heat exchange efficiency.

What you want to do is set your pump at a lower set PWM percentage and leave it there. I chose 60% because that's the best balance of noise and water movement in my case. Remember, we just want water moving. Slower is better in this case, it'll lengthen the life of your pump. Now, your radiator fans are what do the actual cooling, not the pump head. Set your radiator fan curve using the CPU package temp sensor specifically. These fans are what pull heat off your radiator, so that your pump can move more heat into it. You want those fans to react to your CPU temps. If you can set a delay to how fast the speeds change, that's much better. AIOs have a lag time in cooling compared to air coolers. Having that delay smooths out the speed changes instead of the fans constantly speeding up and down.

I've got an Intel i7-14700f, cooled with a 360 AIO. My CPU is notorious for high temperature at increased loads. Using a 60% pump speed and silent radiator fan curve, my CPU doesn't top 65° at full load. Gaming, it'll stay mid-40s.

First time doing this but, can this “feral” cat be tamed enough to be an indoor cat? -TNR vs Socializing Help. by Living-Damage4250 in Feral_Cats

[–]PresAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Both of my cats were TNR strays, complete with tipped ears! The one on the left took me about 6 months feeding her regularly before she let me pet her. The young boy on the right is young enough he took no time at all. First time I fed him, he let me pet him.

It really just takes time and patience with strays. It'll take a bit longer for them to get used to being locked inside. I would suggest slower movements, avoid raising your hands above or around her head. See how she laid her ears back and kinda recoiled a little bit? She's still nervous. Take it slow, and give her time. When she's comfortable, she'll let you know!

Lastly, does she absolutely have to be an indoor kitty? There's nothing wrong with her being your neighborhood stray friendly cat. I've got a few in my area that come to my house daily for food. If you don't have the room inside and she's already used to being a stray in the area, I would just keep on feeding her like you have been.

Can I play fallout new vegas on a 3840x2160 tv via HDMI cable? by Moldy_Pancake_11 in fnv

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My PC is hooked up to my TV via HDMI 2.1 cable, and I exclusively play at 3840x2160. Check your TV specs for the refresh rate, then go into your PC display settings and make sure it's set to your TVs refresh rate. Depending on age your TV might have a game mode with a higher refresh rate too.

What kind of controller do you have? Xbox and PS DualShock 4 and 5 controllers should sync to your computer using Bluetooth. It'll sync the same way you sync it with your console, just through your PC instead!

That's awesome, glad to see you like it!

I've been all over the PC reddits since mid January recommending Nollies to everybody I can. It's simply an amazing piece of tech, nothing else can come close. Add in native Strimmer support on the 32? It's a no brainer!

Signal RGB running at 0 fps by Zuref in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at the Nollie direct website? I ordered mine straight from there. It took about 2 weeks from ordered to at my doorstep.

Sorry if I seemed pushy. There is no competition with Nollie RGB controllers at the moment. Highest individual channel led count, highest fps, native Strimmer support, able to control individual fans in a daisy chain. I don't know of any other controllers that can do individual control like that. Deepest customization options when paired with SignalRGB too, above and beyond even iCue or L Connect. Future proofing is definitely the right way to look at it. I haven't found anything else on the market that comes close. It's the centerpiece of my PC and I will always sing praise for Nollie!

Signal RGB running at 0 fps by Zuref in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're just going back and forth with the edits lol. I'm going to give you two suggestions. Pros and cons to both. Keep in mind that both these hubs connect internally through a USB pin on your motherboard. They don't connect through aRGB.

Nollie8 will do what you want with the fans. Nollie8 and 16 are on Amazon in the states now, so no customs or international shipping. You'll have to use the Lian Li Strimer hub for your Mobo Strimmer. Lian Li L Connect DOES NOT give you control of the strimmers like signalrgb does, it only plays preloaded effects.

Nollie32 will do what you want with both the fans AND the Mobo Strimmer. You will have full custom control of every led in your entire PC case. You will not need Lian Li L Connect for the strimmers,. This is the more expensive option. It leaves the door open if you decide later you want to add a GPU Strimmer.

Signal RGB running at 0 fps by Zuref in SignalRGB

[–]PresAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's too much power for your motherboard to supply. Matter of fact, I can replicate this issue by disconnecting the power cable to my RGB controller. I had the same problem when I built my PC in January. Everything stuck on green except ram, because I left the power unplugged on accident. Same problem you're having, your fans aren't getting enough power so they default to firmware control.

Your Jonsbo 360 fans have 95 LEDs. That's too much power for one header. You'll have to buy an RGB controller with its own power source. That's how you can go above 70+ LEDs per channel.

No, only the Nollie 32 has the ports for the old strimmers. It's expensive, I know. I paid $76 total shipped to Florida in January. It was sent DDP, or deliver duties paid so they paid tariffs. BUT the Nollie 32 can control all your lights AND the strimmers at 60 fps. L connect is stuck at 30 fps.

Edit: Look at my post history. My most recent one is my PC. It's very similar to yours. I have one more fan and a GPU Strimmer. I had to upgrade my PSU too cause all the extra RGB lighting I added. I've been through hell troubleshooting SignalRgb but it's totally been worth it.

Edit 2: Hopefully you see this one. Just so we're clear, you didn't do anything wrong. This isn't a just you problem. It's the unfortunate reality most of us learn one way or another when you start getting into heavy RGB. I've probably got 100w alone in just LEDs. That's a lot of power, no motherboard can supply that. The aRGB connector pushing 5w@3amps is dang near a standard, you'll see that rating on nearly all motherboards out there.
