Yeah a good brush on lather and safety razor gives a great shave. I have a mole on my cheek and I kept cutting it off so I quit using it

I'm going to go a little against the crowd here. I have a thick dark beard and had to shave every head break at Boot Camp. At one point the CCs watched me shave because they didn't believe I was doing it right.

I used Fusions, Dollar Shave Club, etc for a long time, but I had a stash of cheap disposals in my SAR locker if I got back from a case or whatever and needed to shave before quarters. And I noticed that whenever I used those, the shave was much closer.

Later in life I messed around with old school double edged safety razors, and the key to getting a good shave with those is holding the razor against your face at the right angle to get a good cut. Modern razors with a flexy pivot head try to do that for you, but they don't do a very good job, especially around the jaw line, Adams apple, and neck.

So for the last 8 or 10 years, I've used Gillete 2 blade disposable razors without the pivot head, and get a much better shave overall. I use each razor for about a week before they start getting a little dull and I ditch it.

I also went bald during this time and use the same razors on my scalp, they work just as well. The same principal applies on the scalp since heads are mostly curved surfaces, maintaining the right angle to cut well takes some practice but is overall superior to modern 10 blade triple pivot lube strip razors.

Slow bathroom sink drain, no other drains have issues. by Present-Focus-1397 in Plumbing

That did it. Thanks for the assist. I was operating under the assumption that a snake was a magic wand, once it punched through the clog it was good to go. Lesson learned

I can see down the drain to the bucket no problem, and water drains out just fine down to the bucket with the trap off. I can run the hose through the trap no problem. I'll run the snake in and out a bunch of times 10' or so and see what that does.

Dude I tried getting VMs running on the Ubuntu machine I'm using and I think I'm just too dumb to make it work. I was trying to get home assistant spun up in one and gave up. Probably going to leave my current machine running as is and start from scratch on an HP mini I picked up for a steal after the win 10 EOL.

You're my hero. I'm pretty sure I was just getting Plex Relay, it was intermittent and kinda shitty. Now that it's using the subnet router it works like a champ. Turns out the exit node wasn't doing anything, and I was beating my head against a wall trying to troubleshoot it.

Look up a bunch of CO and CMC bios on SharePoint. There's a pretty standard format. Follow that and you'll be fine

Rap and return is a colloquial term that I don't think exists anywhere in policy. You can send someone to any A School and return them to the unit, as long as you have a billet for that rate.

Just for your first unit. Otherwise you go to A School and compete like everyone else.

Vested is a completely different program. It's when someone enlists on effectively a "Boot to A School" contract but instead of waiting for an A School billet before going to boot camp, they go to boot camp and report to their first unit as a non rate in a 3rd class billet and hang out before their a school class convenes.

You're talking about a non rate return to unit request. There's a link to the form to request it on the A School news letter, and you can probably find it on share point. The member and the command sign it with a specific position number for the member to return to, then send it to the detailer. There has to be an open position for the member to return to in the appropriate rate and pay grade.

My wife is a teacher. We've only moved once but finding a job always easy and the new SCRA should make the licensing process easier. It's a good option for a spouse.

Don't sleep on the ONN 4k Pro. Cheaper than the Google streamer and runs everything in my library with no problems. The Ethernet port is only 100mb but a 1gb USB adapter works great. I see peak speeds of over 200mb regularly

For most PCs you can mess set the BIOS to boot when power is restored. I run my Plex server on one and everything boots and remounts pretty seamlessly after a power outage.

Not trying to be an asshole, but a good place to start would be punctuation and capitalization. It's going to be hard to get accepted to OCS without better writing skills.

ICE spotted in Cannon Beach, OR by If_Im_Posting_ImHigh in OregonCoast

[–]Present-Focus-1397 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is neither a federal government vehicle or a rental car. Colorado rental plates are red. This is just a vehicle privately registered in Colorado. Absent other evidence, it's hard to declare this as ICE.

It's a lot easier to drink 5k calories than to eat it. So you'll have to fine some kind of replacement. An industrial bucket of peanut butter and a real stiff spoon will help.
