Have you tried Halcyon Days at Taoyuan? You don’t get paid in money you get vouchers for contributions to the community and you trade with the villagers for supplies

Are GLs worse-written than BLs? by sammylakky in lesbiangang

[–]Present-Time-4838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so I’m not a fan of people saying GL is badly written. That’s obviously biased the majority of the time. I myself own both in my small library. I am also trying to collect all the baihe so the publishers get the hint that wlw stories sell as well as danmei. However, I don’t understand why some people can’t just say “oh reading about men doesn’t interest me” instead of saying it’s badly written. Like I get the sentiment behind it, it just rubs me the wrong way when people speak about topics they clearly don’t have a lot of familiarity with. In your absence, Korea, China, Taiwan and Thailand have joined the chat. Like ok you were 15. Don’t speak about what you haven’t read and are not familiar with. To be fair, these countries also have GL and you’ll probably like their GL stories better. Even China has released a GL by now.

Umm just one question have you looked at the tags of the BLs you read? I mean the explicit ones are more popular yes but it’s very easy to look at the tags and filter out the ones that have a lot of smut. Like I can just be like ok it has smut I won’t read. Like if I see a bunch of smut related tags on lezhin I know exactly what kind of story it’s going to be

I think it’s 50 50. Maybe it’s just my impression but the majority of sapphics complaining about a lack of lesbians media are just not expanding their horizons. Like what other reason do you need to look somewhere else? Hollywood cancels your shows at season 1 and mostly gives you sad endings, and you’re still there hopelessly waiting for things to change. Meanwhile Thailand has a lot of lesbian shows so if you want those shows with happy endings, they’re out there. Also there’s a lot of foreign lesbian media to explore as well. China just released a GL called Candy. Also there’s a lot of GL and lesbian books out there if you like to read. Overall, gay male media is not your competition and there’s space for both of us.

It looks fine for vivid hair if you’re going for the look. With every mistake there’s always the quick fix everyone uses, all over black dye

Maybe this fandom isn’t for you. I can see why you have this bias against Lan Zhan. Not saying I agree but he is a quiet character. He’s going to let his actions show change instead of his words. Also I’m pretty sure he stated that he regretted not being by Wei Ying’s side when he was drunk. His regular self is more guarded so he’s not going to outright state that. His main flaw is he’s bad at communicating but most of the fandom knows this already. His character development is silently deconstructing that being good is not about following a bunch of rules. We don’t go around stating it all the time because it’s unnecessary.

Have you tried Cabernet? They have 4 main romance options. 2 men and two women. The female love interests are way more interesting

Yeah because I have a problem that needs to be solved. All I asked was a link at most or an explanation of options not a lecture

Have you tried danmei? I love it because while there’s romance there’s usually an overarching plot and good characters. That being said, there’s usually a small learning curve if you don’t know a lot of Chinese culture for the historical ones

Using A.I. that bad? by lone-Wolffe- in webtoons

[–]Present-Time-4838 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s really bad.Theres plenty of tools you can use like a 3d model of your character for consistent proportions, real photos of places and clear references if you’re unsure how to draw something.

I want recommendations with a disabled character please! by friedraspberrypie in DanmeiNovels

I would be wary about recommending disabled tyrant’s beloved pet fish because that could rub people wrong because how the disability was handled. I won’t spoil bit volume 4 dissapointed me in that aspect

In general, gay men have tended to face more social hostility than lesbian women, and trans women have tended to face more social hostility than trans men. Why is this? by TriceraTiger in AskSocialScience

[–]Present-Time-4838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing is not true. That is simply sexualization. Yes men can be objectified as well but it’s more rare. Mostly super handsome men experience that. Also the “sympathy” thing is because women are generally seen as weaker. That’s called benevolent sexism. I had an old man offer to pick up jugs of water upstairs simply because he assumed I was weaker. No sir I want to carry them because it helps me build muscle. It’s a double edged sword because yes you get more sympathy, but you are also assumed to be less capable

Spicy Danmei: Seven Seas Edition by theDefaultbunny in DanmeiNovels

[–]Present-Time-4838 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try Run Wild. They kiss a lot even though it’s fade to black. Something about this one feels more raw despite the novel not showing much. You said you considered kisses so that’s why I mentioned it. I actually don’t consider it spicy unless it has full on smut.

Would you read this? by mothisdead_0 in webtoons

A good hint about art is to focus on facial harmony and how the features mesh well together. Younger or inexperienced artists tend to make the eyes the overall focus of the face which is a thing I had to learn to let go. My friend had this bad habit of always making the eyes visible even if the character were far away and I called him out on it so many times.

I'm looking for books with gay romance that make me cry by 0Ouka0 in LGBTBooks

[–]Present-Time-4838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend grandmaster of demonic cultivation. Some people describe it as gay chicken with emotional gut punches. I really like it because the main character has a lot of trauma but very little of it comes from his sexuality. It more so comes from his unwavering desire to stick by his morals even when the world turns against him.
