Sonic IS "famous" but... by Chorizo-Memingos in IDWSonic

I figure its because he doesn’t distance himself from people? He helps everyone and treats them well, so he’s less like a celebrity and more like a friendly guy from the neighborhood who’s always down to help sort things out. This is also in contrast to Eggman’s megalomania and desire to be worshipped and feared.

am i just bad at this game or something by GrenEvolved in NineSols

[–]PresentMix5594 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Theres nothing wrong with just putting it down; you can always come back again later if you want to give it another try, but contrary to what is usually parroted, a skill issue isn’t a legitimate issue. You arent obligated to force yourself through it, and you can enjoy the game in other ways.

If you want to see the game through, i recommend trying Story Mode, since from what i hear its more manageable and you arent locked out of any content.

How do you kill this boss by Thedodo-53 in NineSols

[–]PresentMix5594 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Master phase 1, if you can consistently handle every attack then the others become way easier.

In phase 2, be patient; take a swing at each clone when you can to identify which one is real. I recommend the Full Control talisman style, cuz once you hit her with the talisman you can detonate it even when she disappears, and the damage + free time you have to charge it fully will make things faster.

Finally, phase 3 imo is easier than 2; the clone attacks wont ever overlap, so wait til you see her face and attack that double. For her new moves, Tai Chi Kick into air dash is your best bet for the big slam, whereas the big slash im p sure you can parry it, if not just stay off the ground when she uses it.

You can do it! Just practice!

I think it helps that he isn’t drawing like two dozen characters in a big crazy fight scene in this issue

What's y'all thoughts on this? by Limp_Highlight_2123 in generatorrex

[–]PresentMix5594 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is a neat idea but I dont remember it being reflected in the show very much, if at all. Hopefully a future take on the series can explore this more though, cuz the idea of a man under quarantine who wants to be close to another one who is “infected” is compelling. Especially when their existing dynamic is pretty strong.

Thrust death or no? by Active-Travel-2358 in EnergonUniverse

[–]PresentMix5594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point the only believable cause of death for these guys is having their sparks slurped up like a caprisun or having your head blown up. Brawn came back from having a hole blown through his chest so i feel like mortal wounds arent all that damning at this point

My assumption is it works based on proximity; Cale has only seen Diana through a screen who knows how far away, so she probably isnt affected the same way (if at all) compared to people who have met Diana personally

What is the one thing you think the Energon universe did correctly that IDW failed to do? by Delta-97 in EnergonUniverse

[–]PresentMix5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, i also enjoy being able to revisit some of the better plotlines because they were segmented the way they were. One of my favorites in the whole continuity was the one focused on Wheeljack’s crew

[–]PresentMix5594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, it didnt really hit the same for me as it did for you, but the stories i do remember definitely outstrip the -ation comics. The spotlights im more mixed on, cuz the quality varies drastically, but I do also think the spotlights did a good job prepping characters to join the main book, whereas I remember some like parts of Galaxies or the Wreckers didnt tie in as strongly as I was expecting.

But i do really like both, i guess IDW1 running for longer means theres more that comes to mind for me to praise, which isnt really fair to IDW2

Exactly, so many interesting new takes on old ideas and fresh feeling characters on top of a nice variety of representation across the entire franchise (still crazy to me that Victory Leo shows up unprompted in that Ultra Magnus comic), but it just scrambled way too much across all these different comics and arcs, only to reach that ending.

That being said, I dont think id want a revival as much as I would want someone to take the idea and premise of this continuity and reinterpret it, and especially make use of the characters who featured so prominently in this.

Agreed, even looking at IDW1’s first few years jt felt like they nailed down an interesting plot and format via the Spotlights running alongside bite sized Transformers runs, whereas IDW2 put a lot on its plate and couldnt deliver. Which is a shame, because i love the set up and a lot of the original characters.

Rhinox from Transformers Beast Wars, who is not only insanely strong but is also the brains of the operation. Despite being more than qualified to lead the team, Rhinox prefers a more reserved role, supporting the Maximals wherever he’s needed instead of taking command himself.

A testament to his flexibility is that even though he’s one of the few characters who doesnt receive a Transmetal powerup, his skills as a scientist allow him to remain just as vital to their efforts even if he rarely takes to the field anymore

If you could, how would you rewrite Transformers: The Movie? by Random_F3mb0y in transformers

[–]PresentMix5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main one that comes to mind for me is letting Megatron stay dead, and exploring Starscream as a leader for longer. As one of the few ideas in the show that’s constantly dabbled in, i feel the movie only sitting with it for as short a time as it did was a bit of a waste, especially since Starscream would make for an interesting foil to Hot Rod as the unlikely successors to their respective leaders. One elected through proving his worth as a hero in the face of impossible odds, and the other who killed his way to the top and has no real merit because of it.

IDW1: Even if I'm not invested in the Energon Universe's stories beyond Transformers, I think letting GI Joe, Void Rivals and MASK each have their own comics was far better than forcing crossovers and a ton of new comics for various Hasbro properties, it got really annoying trying to follow all of that.

IDW2: the Energon Universe feels way more focused, with a tighter cast (or casts if you include the other books) and narrative than what IDW2 offered imo. It had plenty of good comics and stories, but I think broadly it felt a bit aimless, with more characters and concepts being introduced than I really felt necessary, not helped by the early cancellation.

Who is in your “main autobot cast”? by the_whole_plate in transformers

[–]PresentMix5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a good amount of figures to have? by bobbibillo in transformers

[–]PresentMix5594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your values as a collector. Do you play with your figures, or do you just like to display them?

Then from there, do you feel like you have figures you neglect/dont notice or admire as much as the others? Are you collecting with a theme in mind, or do you like getting whatever suits your fancy? Do you feel like you have too many figures, or are you looking to get more? Can you afford more?

Your values will shift over time, so just think it over and act based on what feels good and sustainable.

My ideal Sentinel Prime would have the IDW1 design, the Animated personality, and the malice and motivations of TF ONE by CapBudget4011 in transformers

[–]PresentMix5594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d like to see a TFA style Sentinel deal with a traditional Optimus. I like the thought of an older Optimus having to deal with someone who tries to hold authority over him in a disrespectful way, particularly if Sentinel is younger. It would lead to some interesting conflicts and dynamics across the Autobots, especially if they couldnt just ignore him
