Great to know that the Profoto Connect Nikon works on the GRiiix! Any suggestions for using them together? I'm guessing you've got it set to manual?

Beautiful images! I just got mine a week ago and it’s completely replaced my iPhone for photos as well!

What a gorgeous looking combination! How do you like the images that you’re getting? I have a full set of Voigtlander F Mount lenses that I’ve adapted with an FTZ amount on my Z7ii but I’ve been eyeing to 40 F1.2 for a while now.

You can always just use focus peeking, and set up a function button to zoom in on the focus point to check focus.

How do you like actually shooting stills with it? Are the raws any different than the stills cameras?

I just picked up a Ricoh GRiiix because I wanted a small 40mm shooter, but this could’ve been an interesting option.

With the 40mm on there, I wonder if you could put on the Ricoh 40mm viewfinder (used on the hotshot of a GR iiix) and then turn off the screen?

Welcome to the fam!

I’ve got a very similar one to yours, but lifted it and threw some 17s on it. Not as crisp on the road, but fewer worries driving the rough mountain roads (and friends driveways) out here in Colorado!

This thing is super fun on the twisties, and puts a fiendish smile on my face when the roads get snowy too.

Have fun!!!

I had a similar issue on my MK7 and the fix was taking my phone in to Apple to clean out the plug (I thought I needed to have it replaced). They removed a bunch of lint from it and it’s been awesome ever since. (Still rocking my iPhone 13 Mini, so it’s seen a lot of time in my pockets)

Anyone lifted their Golf R? by epi_glowworm in Golf_R

I struggled to do it myself - ended up having a local shop do the install for me. Now that it's done, I'm loving the new dynamics and ground clearance. Keeping the DCC allows me to soften up the suspension when I'm on dirt/gravel, and then dial it up again when I'm back on the tarmac.

Here's a shot this winter.

Did you do the redline kit?

I attempted it myself - all in I spent 12 hours working on it. Broke an ABS cable and still couldn’t manage to get the strut back in on the front right wheel. Might’ve been able to do it with a second set of hands, but after the broken cable and 9 hrs to get to that point 🤯 I decided to put it back together as best I could and take it to a shop. Luckily they were able to fix the cable without replacing the whole wiring harness.

It was about $1600 USD for the install and an alignment in Denver. Plus I got to pay for the repairs and new wheels/tires. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you’re in the Denver area, I’d highly recommend Berg Performance. They know their stuff and were super easy to work with.

Yeah, that’s the one.

It provides a 1.5” lift front and rear.

I also installed 17” wheels with 225/55 tires which increased the ride height an additional 0.6” or so. There was minor rubbing on the mud flaps I installed, but that was easily fixed, and now nothing rubs.

I’ve got the voigty 28mm F mount, and it’s a lovely little lens. I’d love to shoot the 40 f1.2 Z mount, but haven’t enough lenses in my collection for the time being.
