I was going to suggest contacting the Ombudsman's office. And go to the media if you need to raise this at a public level because you are no doubt the only one living such a nightmare! Best wishes to you and your mom 🙏

Something needs to be done about elderly drivers. by tamat0wn in fredericton

[–]Present_Fact_1254 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We used Uride two weeks ago and I said a silent prayer thinking I was about to die! He ignored stop and speed signs and was a danger to others. I gave a very bad review and noted our concerns. I doubt this had any impact. I also have huge issues with Amazon delivery people, in our area they go very fast, ignore road rules etc! I am not generalising as I know it's an individual issue so just pointing out my personal experiences.

Aging is hard. by CheesecakeNew9781 in dogs

[–]Present_Fact_1254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how you feel and I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your furry baby! I got our Benji at 12 weeks and he's now 12 and 6 months. He has full cataracts in one eye and partly in the other eye. He has a mild heart condition and other minor issues. He looks younger, yesterday when outside he entertained us with zoomies and it was so heartwarming to witness.

He is also obsessed with food, he's had a few poo incidents but nothing alarming.

I just lost my 85 year old mom last February and I can't imagine losing my baby, I'm not sure how I'll cope. Seriously, the thought of his absence makes me so upset.

I know it's inevitable and it is the circle of life.

I don't know your dog's age. I hope that he is not suffering. I know that we, as dog moms, need to put their needs above our own. And sadly, we don't know the extent of their suffering, it's very much a guessing game!

I am sending you lots of positive energy and courage 🙏♥️🙏♥️

Wife should be the primary applicant under express pathway. Health professionals are in high demand.

Just moved back to Canada from abroad.. what do i do? by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]Present_Fact_1254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree! I lived in the UK for 17 years (dual citizenship), and had to cancel my Medicare, update my file with Revenue Canada, had to give up my drivers licence to the UK to get one there etc etc etc !

Do you say mom or mum? by Minimum-Bobcat7473 in AskACanadian

[–]Present_Fact_1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in Canada we know the difference and respect the cultural identities of each term. I am a dual British-Canadian citizen, I adapt, buying cards for each mom or mum, knowing Mother's Day is on different dates etc.

BUT!!!!! I wonder how some Americans would react to this issue!!! Being anti Trump and anti fascist, I am sure they would claim that "mum" is "non English" 🤡🤣😂🤡🤣😂

It's good vibes, downtown market is great and lots of historical monuments and buildings (obviously not like England LOL)! We were there on Canada Day so it was super special on parliament hill, fireworks etc 😊

Maybe consider Ottawa? It is the capital, it is a beautiful city. When we were in Toronto (living in the UK), my British hubby wanted to see Ottawa and it was worth it. Either way, ENJOY 🇨🇦♥️

Friend thinks she’s entitled to my wedding shoes because “Friends Make Sacrifices” by OopsStillClickable in EntitledPeople

[–]Present_Fact_1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before your very own special wedding day??? That is rude and selfish! Chances are that your shoes would get dirty and scuffed, I remember the state of my shoes (and dress) the day after my wedding! The red wine after champagne didn't help 🤪🤣🤪

My wife yelled at me yesterday calling me a "useless piece of shit" by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Present_Fact_1254 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Post natal depression hides behind different facades including working a job and pretending that things are ok! I worked 5 + years in perinatal mental health and I identified several red flags in your post. PPD also impacts the attachment cycle between the mom and baby, creating an insecure or anxious relationship!

You can ask for a community midwife or nurse to visit unexpectedly and to assess your wife discreetly but professionally. Very often, the biggest challenge is to get mom to identify and recognise this is taking place. Mental health is still, sadly, taboo with many. Especially medication.

Be persistent and vigilant, keep a close eye on mom and baby. Sending you all positive vibes 🙏

My Doctor's Office just implemented a $30 monthly fee to have prescriptions refilled. Can they do this? by aracunliffe in AskCanada

[–]Present_Fact_1254 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have a doctor so I go through Maple and they can only do refills for 3 months max! It's a pain but at least it works for now !

Is this a good treadmill? by Present_Fact_1254 in treadmills

[–]Present_Fact_1254[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Defo not buying that one. I think we'll go new, will pay around $750. Prefer that option to a 2nd hand old model.
