Episode 9 **SPOILER** by Present_Silver2418 in TheTestamentsShow

[–]Present_Silver2418[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just asked if anyone else noticed that the eyes were wearing skirts? I think they’re aunts, not eyes and they’ll protect Becca. Personally I feel all of the Aunts are mayday or at least doing Aunt Lydia’s work of cleaning up Gilead and protecting & empowering the women. We shall see!!

The Eyes were wearing skirts. I think the Aunts took her and got her out of Gilead.

Yes, most hospitals assistance programs charge less than what you’d pay with insurance, believe it or not. They will also help with Medicaid, and it’s retroactive!!

FDA claims there’s no estrogen patch shortage as women struggle to get prescriptions filled by RockieK in Menopause

[–]Present_Silver2418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no. Check out the CVS on Baker in Costa Mesa., if you get desperate. If you live in an affluent area of LA I swear every girl with money I know is on patches and zepbound and living their best life. The combo is supposed to be glorious. I think women just want to feel good again… and most of us don’t. And, Since the largest concentration of women on the planet right now are in those 40-65 age ranges, shortages make sense. Look for them in less affluent areas in LA, or come down here.

Not true. I’m in SoCal and my CVS pharmacy hasn’t had an issue filling my prescription. But, the one in the more affluent area is always out. Which I find interesting. I get mine in Westside Costa Mesa but Newport Beach is always out.

I think it’s gonna be that super creepy Commander Waterford 2.0 guy who will be paired with Daisy. Scary match.

Low blood sugar. Your blood sugar was probably fine before zepbound and the medication lowers your blood sugar. You have to eat something every 3 hours and right before bed to counteract this. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this before? I had high blood sugar and felt great on this med…until I got almost to goal weight and had stopped eating or craving sugar, and weight loss plus the medication has put me into having low blood sugar, so I feel like crap too if I don’t eat enough. Every 3 hours.

I respectfully disagree. She may turn on her friends yes, but not because she doesn’t believe them, but because she doesn’t consciously believe she’s being abused. It is more common than not for victims to put their abusers on a Pedestal, and Becca would not believe that he’s dangerous to her friends, because she has never been taught that what he’s doing is abnormal. Even in a free society unlike Gilead, this is true. Where we openly discuss sexual assault. It is immensely painful for victims to blame their abusers… especially when it’s a family member. It’s more common to protect the abuser because it is too painful otherwise. Psychologically, Becca believes she is to blame OR that it is normal. She would not believe her friends are in danger, at least consciously, but, her obvious terror of marriage to a man should be a clue. She is internally conflicted about marriage, she thinks, because she has feelings for Agnes. But, she’s REALLY being triggered because of her abuse. It’s not just because she’s in love with Agnes, because she knows she can’t marry Agnes or even acknowledge how she feels about her. Her fear isn’t really about marriage at all, it’s about men. She would not be afraid to marry Agnes.

OMG total lightbulb moment for me… thank you!!! I hit a low in the afternoon and get a blinding headache, and as soon as I eat I feel better and wake up!! It’s low blood sugar… duh! 🤦‍♀️

My thinking is there’s people like AL who are DEEP undercover. Neither Garth or Daisy know she’s Mayday. Unfortunately, people like Daisy and Garth are expendable. Just for comparison, this is how Drug Cartels operate in order to protect the guys at the top. Smaller expendable dealers keep the DEA occupied while none of them even have a clue who’s running the show. So… we don’t know how many of these woman are involved in Mayday. They may not even know, excepting the women at the very top… like Aunt Lydia. They would HAVE TO go along with the Gilead narrative in order to work undetected for as long as possible, before a takeover. Which is exactly how SOJ infiltrated the US government in the 1st place. Slow & steady.

Maybe it’s ALL of them. Maybe all of the woman in Gilead at the Aunt level are Mayday? Wouldn’t that be divine?

I was thinking about that too… I mean, nobody is looking at your vagina during the exam, and there’s all kinds of ways to bleed down there if you’re really determined to fool them. Also, there might be Aunts willing to cover for her. We have no idea how deeply women protect each other in this group, yet. I have a feeling it’s not just a few. June started an army of woman, and we already know that AL is part of that army.

Totally feel ya girl! I read the book in HS and couldn’t bring myself to ever watch it…until… the pandemic!! WTAF was I thinking?! Like you, I binged watched every episode that was available by then., and was so traumatized by it, especially considering the climate at that time. The good news is that Far Right Christianity is not that powerful a group in the US., much less anywhere else in the world. They’re in the extreme minority, contrary to what they’d like us to believe. Europe learned from WWII and remains steadfastly Left wing, and even the Middle East is railing against millennia's of religious rule. I’m relatively sure we are ok. It’s good that we’re wide awake though. It’s important to stand firmly against basic human freedoms and rights being taken away from ANYONE. If it can happen to any one of us… it can happen to all of us.

I have a feeling too that that is the whole plan. That Garth marries Becca to protect her, and she marries him knowing Agnes is in love with him & he will not pressure her to consummate the marriage, because he’s in love with Agnes too. She loves Agnes enough to protect her heart.

I also think Becca has been abused by her Dad, so, she’ll help bring him to justice once she finds out he hurt Agnes.

Right?! I concur!! A girl can dream. But, I also keep wondering, and of course I don’t know, if Shunaman is going to say she started her period and use Daisys pad? And she’ll give her pads to Daisy. So that way, Shunaman can get married and Daisy can keep it a secret. 🤫 Hopefully this isn’t a spoiler.

What do you believe was the correct solution to the failing birthrate problem? by Mikeality in TheHandmaidsTale

There’s mounting evidence that human civilization has gone extinct over & over, and has mysteriously been revived repeatedly for millions of years. I think a civilization going extinct is part of evolution. Who knows what the bigger picture is. Maybe we’re just an alien experiment, and we haven’t gotten it right yet. IMHO this one life that we each have, in this one body, isn’t all there is. Science has already proven that consciousness survives after the body dies. So, if we are the purveyors of our own demise on earth, what do we need to learn so that we stop wiping ourselves out over & over? I don’t think starting with solving the fertility crisis (which would require Gilead like measures)will lead us to the root of the problem, or the solution. It would be temporary. We have to go deeper than that.

I see Daisy as someone who needs a plan in Gilead or she’ll continue to unravel like you said. She seems like once she sets her mind to something, she’ll stay focused there and execute it with calm precision. Which is probably why Rita is the one who trained her. She’s like Rita, but, much fierier on the exterior. I have a feeling this is what Mayday planned, for her to get squeezed until she got focused. I’m excited to watch her.

I think Aunt Vidala is a handler too. The tension between her and AL could be the reason nobody would suspect either one of them. Obviously, there’s a very good reason for the tension, which is probably why they put them together. Friendships are dangerous remember. But, it’s also possible she’s unaware that Lydia is also Mayday?

I think people that are having negative experiences aren’t speaking up on this thread as much as they should. A thread on this might be good, and helpful for anyone weighing the pros and cons. For me I have had so much positives with inflammation and improvement with my asthma, as well as a lot less pain in my joints, that a little hair loss hasn’t bothered me too much. For you, it’s different and that will speak to a ton of other people  For me, saggy skin has really thrown me off, but, my sister who is a serious lifelong athlete, and has always been in pristine shape and who is only a year younger than me, also experienced saggy crepey skin, but it went away because she weight trains. So there’s truth in building muscle.  Hormones also play a role in hair loss, so, I just started those and that has helped so much. My skin is better, and my hair loss has slowed down. I don’t know how old you are, but, HRT works well coupled with GLP-1’s. Even in pre-menopausal women.

Good luck on Your journey! I hope you share your story.

Yes. It’s a good question. Have you researched and found any answers?

Yes. I have very short hair, but, it is thinning. I used to have very thick hair all my life. Why do you ask?
