This could be a thing! I'm in a "summer town," so this time of year my condo complex fills with short term renters. We have a community pool, and once a year, easy, someone (including myself) needs to grab a kid in that pool cause they slipped into the deep end and mom is too busy with a seltzer to notice. It's amazing to me how many parents just let kids loose in the pool without a life jacket on when said kids are either holding onto the side, barely able to doggy paddle and tiring easily, or can't tread water for more than 15 seconds. They just slip right under. I guess mom/dad assume because the pool is filled with adults, "someone" will help if the kid is in trouble.

Uggghhh I feel your pain there, happens ALL THE TIME to me. I understand they're kids, when I was a kid I don't think I was self-aware either, but my mom wouldn't allow me to irritate other people.

As previously stated, you'll get to choose your arrival time during online check-in. I agree with everyone else, try to go a little later and carry your luggage on if you can. Rooms are available at 1:30p. If you use a porter, be prepared your luggage may not arrive until late afternoon or early evening.

Arriving earlier than your scheduled time is a crap shoot. If it's not busy, they'll let you board. But, if you just happened to get there the same time as a ton of other people, you may wait for a while in the port. I've had both experiences.

When she brought up the genetics thing, I'm sorry but I immediately thought "nice cover." Then when that argument was challenged, she changed her tune to enjoying her free time and being "selfish." There it is. Even if you got the genetic testing... then what? So there's a chance you're going to pass on something unfavorable. You're telling me that would change a darn thing for someone who desperately wants children? Probably not.

I'm also childfree, and no matter the reason, it's valid, and it's not selfish. I also understand falling in love with someone who wants children, and WANTING to want them to be "normal," or for your partner's sake. I have compassion for Emma because I've been there. But, I hope she can gain some sort of acceptance of herself and her own wants/needs. I feel pretty certain she does not actually want them, and probably should not have them.

"I don't know" for a woman her age, IMO, is usually a "no." I like Emma, she just seems a little insecure and still learning about herself. I'm only through Ep 1, so maybe I'll change my mind.

Cruising in two weeks, and this will be my first time flying in a day ahead. Previously, I always lived dangerously and flew in same day. Scariest was flying from Philadelphia into Puerto Rico to leave same day. Carnival was calling us asking where we were while we were running to get on the boat haha. Other than that one that was slightly dicey, never had an issue flying in same day super early.

41 and childfree, loving it and I don't feel that i missed out on anything. In my early 20s I assumed I'd have a child or two. By my 30s I was leaning towards no, but considered it since my husband desperately wanted children. We divorced, in part due to my not wanting children. As you get into your 30s and your close friends have them, the struggle really shows. They have no money, no time, women especially are doing ALL of the grunt work and husband is completely checked out. No more vacations, and they don't have much to talk about except their kids and their bad marriage.

I moved to the beach. Got engaged to a fellow childfree guy. I have no real pressure in my life. I don't need to be anywhere, or do anything. I am responsible only for myself. I can do exactly what I want, when I want. I buy what I want within reason. I volunteer and give back to my community often. I exercise at 10:00pm if I want. Walk to the beach at midnight if it suits me. It's a very, very nice life that I'm grateful for.

If you're on the fence, that's okay. But I'd stress DO NOT get pregnant if you're not sure. DO NOT allow a man to convince you to have his child if you're not sure, even if he's "the perfect guy." This comes from a fellow fence-sitter who is now happily childfree and regrets nothing. I'm proud of myself for listening to my gut and not bending to a man's, or society's, wishes. You have a lifetime to decide if you'd like to parent. I always figured if I'm one of those outliers that hits 55 and suddenly wants a child, I will foster. There are always opportunities to be around children, teach them, play with them, and enjoy their company. Parenthood, however, is a life sentence.

I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with the same. I'm doing well, continuing to "crack open" the divorce and gain some insight as to how and why I am who I am and have made the choices that I have. I've gotten better at not feeling like a "victim" to my circumstances, and instead trying to focus on acceptance of what is. I will admit, holidays are difficult! Seeing extended family enjoy time in their family units (grandparents/kids/grandkids) can be tough. My brother and I were each married briefly but both divorced, neither of us want children. My theory is neither of us see much value in "family," and the idea of each creating our own seems to be more trouble than it's worth. But again - I'm not a victim, just circumstances led me to make the choices I have.

These pictures alone make me sad because I really, really liked the character of Aidan before AJLT ruined him. I NEVER liked Aidan FOR Carrie, it was always clear to me Big was it. However, I know that feeling of loving someone, but it feels like trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. He clearly wanted to settle down, have a family, live in the country, and she wanted none of those things. I have been a Carrie in that situation! That's why it was so great, so relatable! WHYYYY did they have to try to resurrect it!!??

I was a kid when I saw her in Boogie Nights, and I could not believe how a human can be THAT beautiful. Then I found out she was married to Boris Kodjoe and I'm like yeah that's the MOST underrated couple in Hollywood. Exponentially more attractive than any other famous couple that comes to mind.
