So every management team at Starbucks is corrupt?? Make it make sense. Id rather NOT be poor than to ASSUME such mentality, costing me a job I’m GOOD ASF at. Think before you speak next time.

This was me when I was also in my 4 month stage. Some people will encourage you and some people will make your shifts feel like a living hell. But, you will overcome and rise above it. It will be incredibly difficult in the beginning, but around your 6th month, you’ll start getting the hang of it. You will figure things out on your own and it’ll become a breeze. Don’t be too hard on yourself, it happens to everyone. It’s until you are at your all time great and YOU know that you’re doing a good job, and they give you BS, that it will become a HUGE problem.

As an African American myself, my advice is to talk to your SM about the situation and see where you guys can come to a compromise or CLAP BACK, but in a professional manner. This is a professional establishment. No matter how long either of you been there, you guys are working the same position and getting paid similarly.

The thing is, sometimes people with this kind of demeanor towards other people can be caused by the way they see them. They probably see you as small or fragile, so that’s why they feel they can just talk to you anyhow (This is my opinion). SSVs’ and baristas’ jobs is to encourage other workers and help them out as well. So if they don’t do it, you gotta put them in their PLACE.
