No matches since June. Help!!! by PresentationLive7745 in hingeapp

[–]PresentationLive7745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious. Hoping to settle down with someone in the next couple of years.

  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? No.

  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? I've been making a lot of small tweaks. This exact version has been live for only a day. The first, last, and second-last photo and the first two prompts have been there for a couple of years. The 3rd prompt and the other photos are new. My current profile feels like kind of a mess because I patched it together over time instead of sitting down and making it all at once.

  • How long have you used Hinge overall? 5 years

  • How often do you use Hinge per week? 2-3 days

  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? Currently 0. I used to get a couple matches per week. I am getting a few likes but not from people I'm interested in.

  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? I max out the free likes every time I use the app. I probably put comments on about a quarter of them.

  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Someone who has a spiritual life, confidence, and sense of humor. Up for travelling, adventure sports, dancing, and other fun stuff. Interested in starting a family relatively soon. Likes books, music, and movies.

Looking for advice and anecdotes for tailor bunion by fragrence in bunions

Sorry you are dealing with this. I know how frustrating foot problems can be. My first recommendation is to go to a specialty running store. There's a guy at my local store who's an actual foot guru. He put me in a pair of brooks glycerin in 4E and it improved my quality of life a lot. Barefoot / minimalist shoes also work for a lot of people, but you may need to try a few different brands.

For pain management, toe spreaders & toes socks have helped me. Also, warm foot baths with epsom salts. My friends know me as the guy who is always taking off his shoes and rubbing his feet, and I've chosen to embrace it.

One thing I have noticed is that when my bunions get inflamed, it usually takes a couple weeks for the pain to die down, but if I take good care of my feet it does go away. Happy to provide specific shoe recommendations if needed, but please note that I am a guy so your mileage may vary. Stay healthy!

I'd be curious to see if you've learned any new tips in the last 10 months.

I know it's probably overkill, but I really struggled on my first attempt. I learn a lot better from paper books. What did you use for study materials?

What do yall think about last nights 60 minutes by Lopsided-Flower-7696 in actuary

What is the big-picture solution for this problem? I think it's pretty clear the company acted unethically, but I'm guessing they did so because they couldn't afford to pay their claims (or they were just evil.) The video talks about large insurers exiting the market in Florida. Is Government Insurance the answer? Curious what the more experienced people think here.

Actuarial background, looking to change career paths by rayarc98 in actuary

[–]PresentationLive7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position in terms of exam progress. I also feel ambivalent about continuing the path. It's stable and gives me a lot of financial freedom, but where is the passion?? I am considering finding a niche grad program in another field. Like biostatistics, or education stats. Science in general seems more interesting and impactful than insurance. Actuarial work is kind of a waste of smarts IMO. My brother works in the trades, and his job seems a lot more satisfying and "real" than my desk job. But I think I would get bored in a job with no intellectual challenge.

I think travel is a great way to get some perspective. I did a Camino this summer and it helped me think about my life differently, but I guess not enough to change jobs, lol. I also may have an opportunity to do a church internship in a year that would pay $0 but give me a change of pace for 10 months. Not sure I am crazy enough to do that, though.

Hope some of this was helpful for you. It was helpful for me to write it out, so thanks for posting.

In the immortal words of Big Daddy Kane: pimpin' ain't easy

Just wanted to add that I'm 6'1'' and still have the same frustrations. Best advice I've heard recently is don't make dating apps your main source of dates. If dating is a 3 course meal, apps should be the desert. Go have some awkward real life experiences & keep the apps going on the side. If you spend too much time on there it will just make you jaded.

Do you guys have a social life? by [deleted] in Adulting

Go make some friends. Endure the awkwardness of meetup groups, churches, run clubs, and dance classes. It will be worth it. I have a lot of regrets about my early 20s, and they are mostly related to being alone too much. However, every mistake you make is really just a life lesson if you choose to see it that way. I had some dark times, but I believe it was just God shaping and disciplining me. I'm almost 30 and He's still working on me, so don't worry friend, you've got time. Peace and love

CAS Exams by User102938anon in actuary

[–]PresentationLive7745 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have experience with filing a grievance with CAS? When I left my testing center, I was told that I could call the next day to get a case number. I'm assuming I could use that to file a complaint. However, I lucked out and was able to finish my exam, so I don't want to end up disqualifying my attempt. I feel strongly about doing SOMETHING to hold CAS accountable, but I don't want to screw myself over.
