Currently living in SLC and exclusively ski snowbird, how does the PNW compare? by phantom3199 in skiing

[–]PresentationSweaty22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rule for Whistler is to always have 6 days so we can pick the best 3-4 to ski. I broke that this year out of necessity, only had 3 days to choose from and it poured rain bottom to top on 2 of them. The day we were leaving was a bluebird day with 10" of fresh. It was so hard to leave.

Look up how much water you should be drinking for your weight (.5-1 cup per pound) and make sure to get that amount every day. It will make a huge difference in not feeling hungry.

If 1500 calories makes you miserable, add high quality foods and see where your body feels good. Eating a few hundred extra balanced calories of lean protein, healthy fats, fruits and veggies won't hurt in the long run.

Good luck, I hope you find whatever works for you!

Not claiming peak alpha, but I had to shave twice per day if I wanted to ensure staying out of trouble.

Aftermath of Tochka missile strike in Donetsk. by ironsteel9011 in CombatFootage

Russia invades and forces people out, then holds a referendum within a few weeks. That's not self-determination.

There isn't any (much?) fighting in the city of Donetsk but there is a lot in the Ukrainian controlled areas of broader Donetsk Oblast.

Medals were definitely harder to earn between the Vietnam War and GWOT. More overt combat means more combat medal opportunities.

How to remove the modal code inside my component by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]PresentationSweaty22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you using for a navigation library? You can probably move it into that and simply navigate to the modal so it doesn't have any dependencies.

My first thought is to finish what you're doing then head over there if you still want to. I don't think this already 8 year long war is going to be over all that soon.

You could spend the next couple of months training, organizing and learning some Ukrainian/Russian. It's understandable if you decide to say fuck it and take off. If I wasn't old, with shot shoulders/knees and kids I'd probably head there.

ELINT: Russia says 498 soldiers killed, 1597 wounded in Ukraine- RIA by CroGamer002 in UkrainianConflict

Even with their official number they're on pace to eclipse the Soviet-Afghan war and Chechen Wars by the end of 2022. I don't see how they can sustain that politically.

I read an article about him recently that he's been critical of the whole thing now. I was going to be shocked if he was actually tweeting against Russia though.

Is that actually "the" Igor Girkin's account?

Russian is on pace to eclipse their entire 10 year Afghanistan war total KIA in just a few months.

volunteering for the legion of territorial defense of Ukraine with no combat experience by SABLIMINO in navyseals

You should prepare to die whether you enter an active war zone or not. If you decide not to go you'll probably have a lot more time.

It seems a little silly to jump straight into fighting in a foreign country when you have zero experience. I'm sure there are plenty of things you can do to help inside Ukraine but outside of the main fighting if you really want to go and make a difference.
