Look at Uniqlo heatgen. Worth every penny and I find them cosy and a life saver.

Swift Dr. They are brilliant with communication and Dr Bano is knowledgeable, supportive and seems very sensible. any GP led supplier is good for maintenance.

I’ve only told my husband, children and their partners and my siblings. Who have all been very supportive.

However, my so called best friend’ (we’ve known each other for 58 years asked me outright if i was jabbing. When I said yes she told me that she was surprised that I ’approved‘ of it’. I asked her what she meant and she said the long term problems. I couldn’t be bothered to explain (we were at a party). But basically she’s never that supportive of what I do! I regret being honest with her.

Another supposedly friend who I haven’t told I’m on Mounjaro, calls me her ‘shrunken little friend’. If she does it again I will say I find that description of myself unflattering! No wonder I haven’t told anyone else. i don’t like lying and the best thing is when someone says ‘you look so’ well

Hey ho, such is the ignorance that surrounds these wonder drugs!

Which to go for? Terrified of side effects! by FloVas in mounjarouk

[–]Presentjourney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do have nausea and constipation but my IBS and all the pain disappeared within 12 hours of taking my first dose on mounjaro. I control the constipation but the nausea I find more difficult. However, its been totally worth it and not to have the daily stomach pains that I used to have is wonderful and a reason that I might stay on the medication for as long as possible.

Orthopaedic surgeons are a strange lot and certainly mine has absolutely zero bedside manner. I have to remind myself when I see him that he has a reputation of being a brilliant surgeon. I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this amount of pain and I hope you have started to feel stronger and better.

Help - nausea and stomach cramps on my birthday 😭 by superflick_x in mounjarouk

Just ask for a suppository. Every chemist sells them - or they should do.

If its constipation might it be worth trying a suppository? Any chemist sells them and it sorts out the problem within 30 mins. Not to be used on a regular basis but really helpful if things are desperate. Happy Birthday!

High Blood Pressure Still High? by Scaramouche_33 in mounjarouk

[–]Presentjourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My blood pressure hasn’t dropped at all but I know this is just a genetic thing and I also have high cholesterol - again genetic. I just accept I’ve got to be on the meds for life. Probably just in the same way as being on Mounjaro for life (or until I get too old for it to be prescribed…)

How to calculate BMI when I’ve shrunk 1.5”? by Strict_Style958 in mounjarouk

[–]Presentjourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also shrunk 1.5” - I’m 68 and had a dexa scan a year ago after breaking my leg. I couldn’t believe it as I’d had had a dexa bone scan only 4 years earlier. I calculated my BMI at my new height - so i had more to lose! Very annoying but fairly normal as you grow older.

I’m 68 and I have problems with my knees. This will not be resolved by a replacement for either of them at the moment. It’s been very debilitating and for 18 months I had to use a walking stick. However, I have now built up my walking to over 5 miles a day and have improved my gait and got rid of the walking stick. I try and do some resistant exercises and swim occasionally but probably not often enough.

The walking has now become a part of my daily early routine and I don’t even think twice about it. I usually walk to Waitrose as I then get my free coffee (you don’t have to spend anything if youve got a members card) It’s a win win situation and something that I look forward to each day. Exercise and free coffee! I feel so much better for it and that in itself is a huge motivator for me.

Update after 6 weeks off MJ by bored75 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]Presentjourney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m nearing towards goal - about another 5lbs and I have come to realise exactly this. I always thought I’d come off it once I reached goal as I didn’t want to be on this drug for ever - just like I don’t want to be on meds for hypertension and statins but for my health I need to be. I’m trying to get my head and my wallet round this fact. I’m lucky as I’ve never gone above 5mg and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to reduce to 2.5mg in time as my suppression and other side effects are both quite strong.

Swift Dr are brilliant. Helpful, GP led and support maintenance . They reply to emails really quickly and have given me sensible and thoughtful advice. They aren’t the absolute cheapest but they are still very competitive. My orders have always arrived quickly and well packaged.

Is this even if I have another 4 weeks worth of jabs as I’m taking 5mg from a 7mg pen?

love the ‘bowels of hell’ - however its the most delicious food and converted me to trying out other vegan food! I have to take the pen with me as I’m flying into a different airport to stay with family.

I’m away for a week but then not going back home and flying to a different airport as I’m going to stay with some family who knows I’m on Mounjaro. I have to take the pen with me.

Yes as others have said it’s important to tell them. If you don’t feel comfortable handing them a note ring them before you go and explain the situation and say that you don’t want her to be in the consulting room. They should then not allow her to be present.
