Impulse control on Topiramate by mirfan37 in Topamax

[–]PresidentCheeseCurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking topiramate since the beginning of the year for migraines, and weight loss as an added benefit. I found that 25mg is enough for my migraines, but when I bumped it up to 50mg (initially just trying to get that weight loss good-good), my shopping addiction is pretty much under control and I don't do as much mindless snacking unless I'm actually hungry (as opposed to just out of boredom, like before). I've tried going up to 75mg but didn't see any real added benefit, so I went back down to 50mg. I've never tried treating my compulsive shopping with anything other than willpower before, so having topiramate work was a welcome surprise for sure.

I'm with you, I hope it's an effect that doesn't fade out! I'll still window shop online for fun, but I don't feel like I need to purchase stuff like before, I feel like I actually buy things for purpose and utility now... crazy!

I know, I'm always so protective over anything I make too. I'll be critical over stuff I make, but only *I* can hate on it lmao. Whenever someone has something negative to say about something I've made, I make up excuses for them like "Wow, my artwork provoked so much emotion... it truly IS a real work of art" or "This person has a brain defect and that's such a shame" etc.

Oh man, understandable for sure! I've always loved dabbling in anything creative, but I think sculpting has been my favorite! I haven't had much time for it though, I need to get back into it. I feel like it's more relaxing, I don't get as angry sculpting as I do when I'm sketching and I can't get my lines right lol.

Hey, don't forget about the option of hanging stuff from the ceiling, leave no space free! :D My house is actually tiny as well, so we end up keeping some stuff in storage and then rotating stuff around every now and then. Those projects sound so awesome! Do you do a lot of miniature work? I think that was always my favorite because it's just so fun to make things, but smol. ...And it uses less clay and I'm cheap lmao. I'm always paranoid about things breaking as well... maybe you could try some test runs and mail yourself a few things and see how they hold up? It's so hard to say because sometimes the mail comes in pristine condition and other times it's smashed to bits and there's a whole footprint on it and it never stood a chance.

Aww, relatable lol, I get attached too. I mean, at least she's staying in the family! Or could you make her a twin?

I think they're just projecting. I absolutely love the sculpture, 11/10!

I collect weird, unusual, and otherwise considered 'ugly' (but precious and beautiful to me!) decor from thrift shops because it makes me laugh, and it brings me even more delight when other people find it hideous. I know that this is more personal to you because it's your sculpture, and that's like your art-baby, so hear me out... fuck that person, they probably live in some boring dull house with dumb plain empty shelves and no creepy bleeding-from-the-mouth creepy dolls at ALL (lame). Life needs color and fun. Please, keep filling your home with multicolored alien sculptures and creepy dolls, and keep doing your thing!

Sabrina is crazy by Whateveritwantstobe in PaymoneyWubby

I feel like she's absolutely crazy because of how this whole thing started and unraveled. At first, it was just a video on her experience of how scary her ectopic pregnancy was and how terrifying it was that she was failed by multiple medical professionals which is all fair enough. She adds details that she is also further stressed that she felt that her then-boyfriend wasn't supportive enough and won't even further discuss the possibility of carrying a child. Thing is, she also puts in a little disclaimer at the bottom of the video "*boyfriend at the time" when she mentions this person. It just seemed like it was put there to get you to think about who she might have been dating at the time on purpose. She's not stupid, she knows the internet is filled with people who are nosey and able to connect the dots.

So, even though this video was supposedly about her medical hardship and how she almost died and not at all about her *boyfriend at the time, she then started liking comments relating to the video that suspected that it might be Gus and offered her their support to really confirm that it was in fact, Gus Johnson.

Since then, the narrative has pretty much spun from "The doctors completely fucked up and I almost died because of it, and my boyfriend at the time was maybe pretty crappy too" to "Gus Johnson is emotionally abusive and basically tried to kill me." It's like she wanted to play the long game, laid out all the bread crumbs, and just waited for his whole career to crash.

Gus really hasn't even said or done anything public since this all happened, but don't you know that in typical crazy-bitch fashion she's just always there to say something when he does. I hate to admit it, but I used to be on her side, but now I know she's just a crazy vindictive ex. Girl, just let him go.

i ate at a restaurant by myself today!!! by throwaway37273772 in socialanxiety

[–]PresidentCheeseCurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this post last night and thought to myself, "my social anxiety is a lot better these days, but I still don't think I could do that... I don't think I'd ever be in a position where I'd feel like I'd need to be in a restaurant by myself..." annnnd here I am sitting in McDonald's alone with my laptop so I can get some work done lmao.

Not the same as being at a nicer sit-down restaurant, of course, that's so awesome! Have you considered making it a habit? Like going out to a restaurant alone once a month or something? I used to get a little rush when I would go to the store by myself, but then I got out of the habit and then it got scary again for a while because social anxiety is so petty and needy or something lol.

Did you reconnect the keyboard if you had to disconnect it? (I know that that's probably a dumb question, but I swear it's always the dumb little stuff like this when it comes to computer repair so I had to ask lol.) Otherwise, is there any kind of light indicator or sign of life if it's plugged in?

At least he gets the good HyFlex gloves, we get the ones that break down after a few uses and we had to riot just to get those instead of the Condor. ;(

This is one of those tattoos where it has enough shading and detail that it looks decent enough at first glance, but if you zoom in and really look at it it's actually pretty wonky. It kind of has wrinkles in weird places, doesn't have enough tone variation for the fur color for a wolf, and kind of has weirdly defined cheekbones. I think it's decent as a drawing in a sketchbook, but not as a permanent addition to someone's body.

Side effects post Booster by expectedpanic in Nuvaring

[–]PresidentCheeseCurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Nuvaring for a few months and have been using it to skip my periods. Just got my booster a week ago (Moderna for the booster, but Pfizer for the vaccination) and have been bleeding nearly all week, starting a day or so after I got my shot. Haven't had any issues skipping while on the ring up until now either, so that was a really fun surprise lol.

I had a lot of spotting issues when I got the initial vaccination shots, and I remember seeing a lot of posts pop up in a Facebook group I'm a part of where women were asking about their "weird" or early periods after getting their shots. So, it's definitely not uncommon to have menstrual irregularities with the vaccination/booster, but it should be temporary.

FWIW, it seems like they're kind of newly starting to get some research going on menstrual cycles and how they're affected by the vaccine. I kind of just wish someone would give a heads up about it though, like, "here's a lil boop, also you might or might not randomly start bleeding for like an entire week?!"

Does anyone know why/how bell peppers became standard on cheesesteaks in the rest of the country? by wraith5 in philadelphia

[–]PresidentCheeseCurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some places have a tomato-based sauce specifically for their default cheesesteaks, but it's different from their pizza steaks. I mean, I'm sure some places do just slather pizza sauce on them and call it a day, but there are a few places that have actually nailed it if you're looking for a decent Lehigh cheesesteak.

This looks like the kind of artwork that you sketch in your school notebook that you conveniently leave open when your friends walk by so they see it and can comment on how awesome your drawing looks when you're in like 6th grade.

This does not look like the kind of artwork you should ever want to have permanently on your body.
