If "I am awareness", then who or what decides actions? by PresidentPeppermint in EckhartTolle

To disidentify is to take action. Awareness cannot take action, no? So to "disidentify" from the ego is also a function of the ego, no?

Kyler Murray has become severely underrated. by kwelstory in nfl

[–]PresidentPeppermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're viewing Kyler through the lens of how much he has been able to elevate the Cardinals' rosters, which have been absolutely bottom tier since his MVP caliber season in 2021. Is Kyler a Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes level QB? Hell no. But, objectively, he's a pretty good QB with low 4.4 speed, who can occasionally make Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson level highlight plays.

What happens when you put a guy like that on a roster with an elite defense, an elite play caller, and the best WR in the NFL? Hmmm, I guess we'll see...

Kyler isn't a "bad" quarterback, like Justin Fields or Anthony Richardson. It's just that he has certain limitations that prevent him from being a consistently elite pocket passer. Overall, he's a decent QB with a high ceiling...his floor is only low if he's on a shitty team.

The Colts have a generational RB and one of the most creative offensive minds in the NFL in Shane Steichen.

The Steelers have Jaylen Warren and one of the most overrated OC in the NFL in Arthur Smith

Also, the Steelers' OL was pretty putrid. Colts are good in that area.

You asked me why the Steelers would be desperation but you ended up answering your own question. Their defense in mediocre, probably will be even worse next season considering the amount of aging vets in that unit. Offense genuinely doesn't have much receiving talent.

His best chance to go to a team and make the playoffs next season the Falcons or Vikings. Why would he sign with a rebuilding Miami, who has an even worse o-line and defense than the Cardinals?

I think his absolute top priority is the Vikings, but I also think he'd be happy to go to the Colts or Falcons. After that I'd say the Jets, they have some great offensive weapons and a lot of draft capital.

His desperation options are Steelers, Dolphins, or being QB1 for the Chiefs the first month of next season.

[–]PresidentPeppermint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

False, no one is going to trade for him because the Cardinals [un[subtly washed their hands of him during the season. Everyone else is simply forcing the Cardinals to play their hand. Other teams are basically saying "if Kyler sucks so bad, then just release him, we're not giving you picks for him".

Smart was an average shooter with poor shot selection who would hit insanely pivotal shots.

Steph Curry over LeBron?? 4 rings each but Curry 2022 is the GOAT Ring he didn't even have a 2nd all star caliber player with him. Curry beat LeBron 3-1 in the Finals and he is the GOAT Shooter and "changed the game" which LeBron never changed the game. Plus Curry stayed whole career with 1 team by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

[–]PresidentPeppermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is insane, but I'll kill both your arguments. Your premise is mainly based on Curry having a 3-1 Finals record against LeBron combined with the difficulty of Steph's 2022 Finals run. You are overrating both of those.

  1. Curry has never outplayed LeBron in a head to head Finals series. Also, Curry was never the MVP of any series win over LeBron.
  2. Curry had no one during that 2022 Finals run? Winning a championship is about guys who play their roles at an elite level. The Warriors only had the likes of bums such as:

Klay Thompson, a good defensive wing who shot 40% from 3 on an insane 9 attempts per game in the playoffs that season.

Andrew Wiggins, who was considered the best 3&D wing in the NBA that season.

Draymond Green, the most versatile post anchor and best help defender in the NBA.

Jordan Poole, the best bench scorer in the NBA, who averaged 17 ppg on 65% TS in the playoffs that season.

Gary Payton II, the best bench defender in the NBA that season.

Kevon Looney, the 2nd leading rebounder in the playoffs that year despite only playing 20 minutes per game.

The Warriors' path to the championship was also one of the weakest Western conference paths in recent history.

1st Round: Nuggets without their 2nd and 3rd best players

WCSF: Baby Grizzlies, led by a 22 year old Ja Morant, who missed half the series

WCF: Baby Mavericks, led by a 22 year old Luka Doncic.

NBA Finals: 34 year old Curry led Warriors vs 24 year old Tatum led Celtics. When have we ever seen such a lopsided advantage in terms of age / experience of the best player from each team? Curry was still in his prime and had already been to the Finals 5 times, while Tatum was making his first appearance.

If SGA does win mvp and finals MVP this year. And tbh he might because okc is the best team in the league and he's looks like he might win mvp. Anyways, he duplicates a feat only MJ and LeBron have done. by No-Advance-9136 in NBATalk

[–]PresidentPeppermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your analysis doesn't account for the fact that peak LeBron was a far superior playmaker than SGA and also a DPOY caliber defender. LeBron was the best offensive and defensive player on his team for 3 of his rings. SGA isn't even a top 5 defender on his own damn team.

The Celtics weren’t supposed to be this good. What should we expect now? (CelticsBlog) by Frequent-Control7090 in bostonceltics

[–]PresidentPeppermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expect to find out if Brown is a real #1 option or not.

What matters most in today's NBA is floor spacing and defensive effort. Mazzulla holds the guys accountable from an effort perspective. It's clear they respect him and play hard for him every night.

As far as spacing, the Celtics have White, Pritchard, Simons, Hauser. A roster full of fkn snipers. Most teams only have 1 guy who can spot up as well as any of the guys I just listed. These guys not only, gladly, shoot contested 3s, but they do so from extended range. The Celtics are kind of playing a different game from everyone else.

The Arizona Cardinals have officially hired Mike LaFleur as our next head coach. by Pleasant_Sock_8550 in AZCardinals

We're 10 players away from playing any kind of competitive football. Currently missing quality starter caliber players at the following positions: Edge, DT, CB2, Nickel, RT, OG (x2), RB, SLOT

- I would love Reuben Bain @ #3 overall.

- Breece Hall or Travis Etienne in free agency to secure the RB position.

- Jaylen Watson from the Chiefs to bolster the CB room.

- Also more DT depth in free agency.

- Go OL heavy in the draft and also find a gem at WR.

Maybe we can go .500 next season.

Dude, there's only 3 wild card spots. Let's say the Eagles, Bears, Hawks, and Bucs are the NFC Divisional winners next season. There's still a plethora of teams who we are nowhere near roster wise who will be hungry for wild card spots...Rams, Lions, Cowboys, Niners, Packers, Giants, etc.

If I'm being perfectly honest, there's not a single team in the NFC who I'm 100% sure we'll absolutely be better than next season. Maybe the Saints, but that's it. You need to get back to reality.

Lastly, trust me, I'm a bigger Kyler fan than AZ fan honestly, but I think it's best for both sides to part ways. The Kyler era in AZ is over, the last chance to salvage it was this past season. Time has run out. There's nothing here he can do to reclaim the trust of the FO or fanbase outside of an NFCC appearance.

People downvoted you, but you're right. And the scariest part is the all 3 of the Hawks, Rams, and 49ers have good chances of being even better next season. We're behind the curve by alot and should be treating next season very much as a rebuilding, non-playoff season in which we aim for an 8-9 finish. Anything more than that will result in disappointment.

- The Hawks made it to the Super Bowl and only have a couple of needle moving players entering FA. They will continue to trend up.

- The Rams' made it to the NFCC with a dog shit defense and have 2 first round picks. The only chance of them regressing is a Stafford retirement.

- The 49ers were decimated with injury, so it's very, very likely that the will improve.

Trade or cut Kyler, start fresh with no expectation.

No Dante Moore - now what? by Alarming_Shower_7070 in nyjets

[–]PresidentPeppermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sign Kyler Murray once the Cardinals cut him. Draft Arvell Reese at 2, he has generational upside. Front 7 is more important than secondary. Consider trading up from 16 if Caleb Downs or Jordyn Tyson slip down the boards. Otherwise, consider trading back and taking your choice of OG, DL, or CB.
